Elemental Fury Shout

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 12:43 am

Okay I made my character a warrior with a plan to be a dual wielding beast. I wanted to dual wield swords, enchant them both with damage modifiers, get the one-handed perks to attack faster and do more damage, use my racial Beserk power to X2 my damage and then use the Elemental Fury shout to attack faster on top of that.

I went straight to Shriekwind Bastion north of Falkreath to get the shout. When I got it I immediately tried to use it with my already enchanted swords and it said "weapons already have enchantment.

That's stupid. Why can't you have enchanted weapons and use dragon shouts?

Is this a bug, will it be patched? Why wouldn't you enchant your weapons? Who wants to run around with unenchanted weapons?

The only work around I can think that might fix this is if I got to 100 enchant and got the Extra Effect perk where I can put two enchantments on the same item. Then just put one damage enchant and leave one empty on each weapon. Should that allow me to use this shout then?

Hopefully they fix that. There's another issue with the Dark Elf racial ability that won't stack with the various "cloak" spells. If you use ancestor fire then any cloke, it is overwritten, and vice-versa.

Not sure if getting the 2 enchant perk would help but even so, kinda a waste to go that far into enchanting without getting two beefy enchants out of the deal.

Yeah I agree it would be best to have two enchants + shout ability but that shout ability is better than any enchant you can put on the weapon so I'de sacrifice one enchant to be able to attack faster then a ninja.

As it is now I think I'll have to carry four weapons. 2 enchanted and 2 un-enchanted that I can use with my shout. Shame.

If anyone has 100 enchanting and the Elemental Fury shout can you please test it out and see if it works?

Just grab some useless weapons from loot, enchant them with only one enchant leaving the other dual enchant slot empty. Then see if you can use the dragon shout with the enchanted weapons equipped.

Thanks.

It doesn't even work on Bound Weapons. Lame.

I found it disappointing, as well, and can only hope they change it via a patch.

Let's hope it's just something they overlooked and not something they purposely did.

After all Dragon Shouts from the beginning were described as "a separate set of powers, that stand apart from the existing magic system, that the player can unleash a broad range of powerful effects and arcane powers to supplement other combat and magic skills."

Obviously it's not supplementing much when they don't work together. Such a disappointment. I was looking forward to combining shouts with perks to make powerful combos like the Steady Hand Archery perk to slow time 50% and the Slow Time Dragon Shout together would make like a sort of Dead Eye ability. Coming to find out the enchanted dual wielding weapons don't work with Elemental Fury just makes me not want to play this character anymore really. I feel let down by the dragonshouts. As a whole they are pretty lackluster. Only a handful are even really that useful.

Yeeh? Cool but why does it work with Smithing upgrades and not Enchanting upgrades? Just stupid...

P.S. What phial did you use?

Not sure why it doesn't work other than being overpowered, however there is a slowtime shout you can use with your double enchanted weapons.
