Elemental Fury: What are the mechanics?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:08 am

I really like this shout but on one of my characters, I can't tell the difference in attack speed from one word to all three, but the relapse time is much higher with all three words. I am running another character right now and trying to decide if I want to get more than just the first word.

Anyone know the mechanics behind the second and third words?

Try using console command to find out -

getavinfo weaponspeedmult
(click on your character before entering)

Should tell you exactly how much each increases it.

Wiki implies that it's 1.3x(130%) for first, then increases by 20% to 1.5 then 1.7 for the third word.

Duration is 15 seconds regardless. Cooldown 30, 40, 50.

Seems to be a consensus that weapon enchants are a better option overall though.

This is a correct assessment of elemental fury, and in some cases enchants are better. However several weapons have unique abilities that do not count as enchantments. These weapons are superior with elemental fury than other weapon types with enchants. (plus they do not require 8 perks to utilize since you do not need to max the enchant tree)

Valdirs (sp?) lucky dagger is an example of this.

Another important thing is that your dual-wield power attack is also sped up with EF. The results can output considerable DPS. (skyforge steel is easy access to mesh with this)

Thanks for the replies, that is the info i was looking for, didn't know you could find that with console. I am trying to go without the enchanted weapons just because i don't like having to refill them. may have to rethink it though as Kvenel just handed my ass to me. i am also trying to go one-handed no shield, with skyforge steel. mostly have been kicking ass until just now in that Kvenel fight......

It`s tough if you don`t want to re-enchant weapons. I bring a follower along and let her do much of the magic stuff while I use my shout to stun them then I come in with my sword from the sides. I have a backpack full of poisons like reduce Stamina, Magika, etc... paralyse poison is extremely useful and give you precious time to wipe out an enemy. i`m also working hard on learning how to smith my own armours so I can eventually go ebony and dragon and also working on alchemy too for more poisons- All of which my character is happy to try.

Brag posts are uninformative. We are all very happy for your character

@ OP. Make sure to get steel smith (being the foundation for either arcane smith or other smith specialities) and use that to sharpen your skyforge blades. They score right under ebony so you should be able to do well once you have smithed them properly.

Knevel is unleveled (or something similar) - so that is a BAD comparison of the effeciveness of your build, since he can be very tough depending on your level and your build choices.
