Enabling Console Commands? : V

Do you need to enter anything specific in order for console commands to work? I tried using "setstage MS11 1" to trigger the "Blood on the Ice" quest (because for some reason it won't trigger for me at all), but although the console accepts the command, the quest isn't triggered or entered into my journal. Am I missing something?

Most likely, the 1 at the end is your problem, and may not be recognized by the quest as an actual step. Try using 10 instead and see how that goes.

I had also tried setstage MS11 10, which did not work. When I get home tonight (at work now) I'll try the "setstage MS11b 10" and see if that triggers it. So there's no "DebugMode" command or similar to enable console commands in general, they'll just (theoretically) work?

I have a similar issue with Sven's "Lovely Letter" quest. Faendal was dead for some reason when I first got to town, so the quest never tripped. Rez'd Faen but no quest offer from Sven, still. Using the following does nothing (and I tried the various stages, too): setstage FreeformRiverwood01 10 . Tried adding the letter to see if it triggered; no joy. I see there is still an option to "Add Topic" to Sven's conversation/dialogue, but I don't know the hex on which topic.

Thinking maybe there is a "dead Faendal" flag set negating the quest. Suspect need save reader/editor like they had for TES III, or (overdue, imo) Construction Kit.

svcks because THIS ONE character was supposed to be a non-action person, based off speech and stealth, not doing the dragon quests at first, and working with Sven as a follower for the combat (actually had planned that as the advancement path). Murphy's Law. . Have to hire a merc. . .
