Enabling dialogue for hostile NPC..

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:12 pm

I'm doing a mod that requires a talking sphere centurion. I have the dialogue all set up and linked to the actor but am unable to interact with the centurion at all ingame.

Is there something I need to enable to get this guy to talk? I'm sure I'm missing something small and stupid. >.>

EDIT: I figured it out. Just add the defaultenablePCdialogue to the NPC and it works great. ;)

Do you want him to talk throughout the battle? As in, you fight him and he ceases combat and opens dialogue, and you want him to fight again?

Or are you looking for a centurion to talk first then fight after?
The latter being the much easier option.

Sorry I meant to say that I want to enable dialogue for an NPC who would normally be hostile but is friendly in this case. Fortunately I was able to figure that part out.

I'm having a new issue now though. Despite having 30 second silent audio files for each dialogue choice they are staying on screen for about 2 seconds. Arg.

Edit: On second thought I solved that problem too. I wasn't creating the lip sync file. Now it works flawlessly! Guess I should keep my mouth shut for longer before asking for help.. lol.

That's great.. it's always much better to see people figure out their own problems. And because you've came back to edit your post and describe how you fixed it is even better.

Now here's hoping that in the future people with the same problem will search and find this thread before starting a new identical thread.
