enchanted item that increases Enchanting

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:44 pm

I somehow made this item a few days ago. I was able to enchant this necklace with a fortify enchanting enchant. Now I can't find this enchant in my list of enchants.
Fortify Enchanting must exist because I was able to make this item. Now I have forgotten how I did it.

When I equip this item it greatly enhances the items' enchantments that I make.

I don't understand why the "fortify enchantment" abilty disappeared from my possible enchantmets.

I still use this necklace in my game.

I have reopened the thread.

I can not find a Fortify Enchantment item or effect in the game outside of Alchemy. This is according to the Wiki's and the Prima Guide. Has anyone seen this effect on an enchanted item in the game or glitched this effect onto an item?

That was my thought. As to destroying it, it might be greyed out the same way my TG armor can't be disenchanted regardless of my not having learned "increase prices" from anything else.

that... looks like a bug. 190% is way too high, and 0 duration on an item isn't suppose to happen, it's suppose to read as a constant effect.

Farwalker: are you running any mods right now? It looks like an alchemy effect got pasted to your necklace (the 0 duration is a dead giveaway), and that would probably take some modding to accomplish.

PS Or you photoshopped it. :P

Guys, I believe it did happen to him in his game. I have had a PM conversation with him, and this appears to be a glitch. Just wondering if it happened to anyone else.

Yeah, I'd say mod related bug. It looks like a potion effect got applied when enchanting. On the other hand, you can't raise potion effectiveness with alchemy, and I'm also not aware of any enchantment that just makes better potions, and not also better poisons. But if you bugger up enough of the files, who knows what you'd get. Does it actually do anything when you wear it? You should be able to tell from your active effects.

Only glitch like that I have run into was creating 2 custom items that are identical, and being abe to dupe them with item wracks :-)

First question is, does it work to actually increase enchanting with "0 Duration"?

Second, [save first], can you destroy it and does that lend you access to make more?

You are playing on the PC right? (And if so, any mods?) He hasn't actually confirmed this yet (unless through the PMs with CCNA). If not, then it has to be a (pretty awesome) glitch.

Should be pretty easy to mod in, the magic effect exist, you has to make an enchant effect and assign it to inventory slots. This might be an attempt on such an mod with some hacking.

Fortify enchant enchants does not exist as they would create an open loop just as fortify intelligence potions in Morrowind, you make 4 items of fortify enchant 20%, enchanting is now 80% stronger so you make 4 items with 36%, repeat it and get 48% then 58%, 66%, 72% and so on, looks like it pans out however it would give you +80% alchemy and smithing gear making you many times more powerful.

I suspect you accidentaly used a mod ...
also 190% is verry odd
the limit for the alchemy bonus is 32% per item
only on 4 items

you mean he s on console ...

because for pc, it would be hard to be certain unless he never used any mods

another big question, how do you think he could get fortify enchantment to show up without a mod
you need to destroy an item

if it was a glitch it would have glitched in a major way

only thing I can see other than that is the lunar forge
it say it can do something at specific time
I didnt try it yet

(assuming anything was really programmed there)

FYI, the Lunar Forge appears to be a red herring -- it is just a normal forge.

I am playing on a PC. When I equip the necklace and enchant items it does have the expected HUGE effect.
I have no mods.
The image of the necklace is not photoshoped other than cropping.
My sons are at a loss to explain how I got this item, as they play Skyrim also and would like to know how I did it.

I vaguely remember having both a Fortify Alchemy and a Fortify Enchanting choice in my list of enchantments at one point. Then at some point later they both disappeared. I was only able to disenchant an item and learn Fortify Alchemy again. When I try to disenchant the necklace, it says "You already know that enchantment." (or something close to that).

Unfortunately, my memory is not as good as it was 30 or 40 years ago.

I posted mainly to ask if anyone else has experienced something like this.

I can raise potion effectivness with enchantments. I have a set of necklace, ring, crown, and gloves with all alchemy on it and it makes potions better then without and no exploits. I also have zero perk points in alchemy and can make a fortune off them this way.

I read somewhere that "Fortify Enchanting" Enchantment was in the game but was taken out for obvious reasons. It may be in the game and the code for it somehow landed in the code of your amulet
