Likely this has been discussed previously, but with the speed posts drop off the page I'll ask again.
Enchanting, how does it / how is it supposed to work?
I mean, I destroy an item (boots) which has a "Resist Frost" enchant. Now I know "Resist Frost". Great. However I can only apply this enchant to other boots. Ok, I'll destroy an "armour" item with said enchant so I can apply "Resist Frost" to my main torso Armour too. Erm, no. I "Already know that Enchantment".
So, now I've learnt "Resist Frost" and can apply it to boots, can I ever learn to apply it to other clothing items?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but enchanting is basically useless to me. I've learnt lots of enchants by destroying things, yet am only able to basically apply the following things:
"Increased Carry Weight", taken from a pair of light-armour boots, can only be applied to boots and gloves oddly.
"Resist Frost", taken from a pair of boots, can only be applied to boots.
"Resist Fire" ditto.
"Magicka Regen" and "Fortify Magicka" can only be applied to my main torso armour.
All I'm trying to do, now I've made myself some Legendary Dragonscale armour, is to fortify the Ice (Nord, not so important) Fire and Electrical resistances. I've learnt the enchants, but am very limited how I apply them.
I'm on the v1.1 day-one patch version of the game.
If I'm simply getting the wrong end of the stick here can someone guide me? I've read about people applying crazy enchants to gear to make them basically a god, so I know great things are possible. However, I only have 52 in enchanting, purely from recharging my magic weapons, and thought it might be fun to have a play.
Cheers,
Scoob.
