Enchanting Enchanted Items

I know that you can add a second enchantment to Wuuthrad with the extra effect perk, but are there any others? I'm most curious about Mehrunes Razor and Windshear.

I wasn't aware you could use the "extra effect" perk that way at all. I read something in the wiki I think, early on, that indicated you couldn't, so never have tried it.

I sort of find enchanting useless, because I level my two-handed allot so I get allot of damage on my equipment.

I know it works with Wuuthrad so I was curious if there were others.

How about enchanting some "Increase Two Handed Damage" gear (can go on boots, gauntlets, ring, necklace)? That's what I run with. Depending on what I wear, I can kick out 300 base damage with my Ebony Greatsword. (Still a couple daggers away from making daedric weapons... doesn't seem a priority, really.)

Ended up throwing a 1 second "Soul Capture" enchant on the sword using a common soulgem. Now I carry two - one for when I have empty gems of all sizes / am hunting giants & mammoths, and a second one (unenchanted) for use the bulk of the time. By the time I can do double enchants, I'll have a metric buttload of filled soulgems...

I was hoping the longhammer was one. Anyone have extra effect and windshear/mehrunes razor laying around and care to try? If nothing else I'd like to make a list of enchantable uniques.

Yeah, that is a very dumb statement. There is nothing useless about enchanting. For instant, i use the absorb health enchantment on one of my swords. Whenever i hit someone with my sword i gain health. That can be pretty usefull in the lets more challenging battles. :starwars:

I use paralyze and health drain with my Deathknight. Dont need to worry about charges, I got infinite charges from zero casting gear.

Zero Cast gear applying to weapon charges was a stroke of brilliance on Beth's part.

You can only double enchant items that have a "passive" enchantment with them. Wuuthrad has a passive enchantment for extra damage on Elves. Sliver weapons have a passive enchantment for extra damage on undead. Best way to see if its passive is to use it, if there was no charge and if it works. Then you may add a real enchantment to it. I have done this to many Sliver weapons and others that have passive abilities on them.

I managed to find that Mehrune's Razor doesn't, but would Windshear's stagger effect count as a passive enchantment?

What what WHAT?! Am I understanding this correctly? 100% cost reduction in Destruction will make my Fire enchanted sword cost zero charge?

I haven't found that weapon, but to check it is to first get the weapon without a charge. Then when you use it, normally if there is no charge you get the message, "Insufficient charge". But if that does not appear, it counts as a passive enchantment and can double up.

Cool, huh? Absorb Health and Stamina w/dual effect is a good'n as well (both fall under destruction).

For that Zero cast charge for Fire enchantments cannot be passive. It has a enchantment on it that has a charge. You can overcharge a weapon to have infinite charge to never run out. But I believe you need to get into the hundreds on the enchantment.

It shows a bar for charges but my understanding it doesn't ever run out of charges because of a glitch. Sounding like I'm out of luck.

The effect looks like a passive, but the charge says other wise. I can't really say much else but to see if you can try to enchant it. But sense it has a charge you shouldn't be able to.
