It's pretty straight forward. Disenchant lowbie items to learn enchants. Enchant anything and everything with the enchant that increases the items value the most. Rinse repeat ad nauseum. I never take the perks on the right for squeezing soul gems for charge etc., but that's just me! Cheers! :tes:

I only plan on going up the middle of tree. Also I'm a nord and am wondering with all enchant perks what is the highest magicka boost you can put on something? Also reductions for destrustion and restoration?

something that may help is getting the Soul Trap spell and taking the first perk in Conjuration early.

Disenchanting items will help you level up. If you find any in loot, and you absolutely do not need to wear or use them for your own survival, disenchant them to learn the enchantment. At lower levels in the skill you can level up quite quickly just by disenchanting anything and everything you find. You can also buy enchanted items for that purpose if you have the cash, but it's expensive and if you do enough exploring and dungeon delving you should find enough free stuff to get you started. I usually only buy enchanted items for that purpose if it's a particular enchantment that I want and haven't found elsewhere and I'm already at max skill and want to use it for something I'm going to wear or on of my own weapons.

Obviously enchanting things will also help you level up, once you've learned some enchantments you can just start enchanting found items. It only takes one apparel enchantment and one weapon enchantment to get started, so once you *can* enchant things, just do it. You will need filled soul gems, which can sometimes be found in loot but to do a lot of enchanting in short order you will probably have to buy them. You can resell the new enchanted items to get some or all of your money back, or even make a profit, depending on your Speech skill and any perks taken there that affect the prices you get.

Once you find a weapon with the Soul Trap enchantment, you can disenchant it and put it on your own weapon, then buy or find empty gems and fill them yourself. Or you can look for the Soul Trap spell and learn that if you are a mage type.

You can buy filled soul gems from some general merchants and almost any mage merchant, the court wizards are handy for that. They will also buy enchanted apparel from you. Smiths will buy enchanted weapons and armor, general merchants will buy all of it.

For apparel enchantments you can usually loot cheap, light clothing off of dead NPCs. For weapons enchantments, daggers are nice since they are relatively cheap and light as well.

As for what perks to take, I take all the ranks of the first perk and then go straight up the middle of the perk tree from there, I don't bother with anything else. But it depends on what you want.

Oh and if you use followers, they can be given a weapon with Soul Trap on it and empty gems to carry and they will fill them for you when they kill things.
