Enchantment problems with reducing cost enchantments

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:08 pm

I'm having problems reducing cost of spell casting through enchantments I wanted to only use 3 spaces for fortify destruction enchantment by 32% which should reduce cost by 96% however by my math its only going to reduce cost by 57%. I used a fourth item with 32% reduction for destruction casting costs and it only amounts to a 75% reduction in total cost. Can someone explain what happened?

Anybody?

Would you mind using the restoration glitch to make an item with 100+% cost reduction and telling us if that works. If it doesn’t…probably a bug.

It multiplies, not adds : so (1-.32) * (1-.32) = .46, that is a 54% reduction

Refuse to help thalmor members.

Ha, how did you make the items, with an enchanting potion or restoration? Also what comes up under active effects?

I think same effects add not multiply, at least for damage have a sword who does 86 damage with no enchant and does 244 with enchants, an 2.8 times increase in damage or 180%, with it's 4*45% damage increase and that that character have.

however resist magic and resist elemental multiply, guess that weakness to poison and weakness to magic poisons also multiply.
so yes 3*32% should take you to 96%,
it also adds up over enchants and potions, if not the smiting potions would be way more powerful,

You're using the restoration bug incorrectly. The number you see on the armor while you are under the effect of the restoration glitch is ONLY what that armor will give you while you are under the effect of that potion. As soon as the potion wears off, the armor will return to it's normal value. In order to "lock in" the benefits of the resoration potion, do the following:

1. Drink a potion of "Fortify Restoration"
2. Unequip then re-equip your "Fortify Alchemy Gear".
3. Craft a new "Fortify Restoration" potion.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until your potions are adequately powerful
5. Drink a your final potion of "Fortify Restoration"
6. Unequip then re-equip your "Fortify Alchemy Gear".
7. Craft a "Fortify Enchantment" potion. Craft several, if you enchant slowly and/or want to take your time naming things.
8. Walk over to an Enchantment table
9. Use the potions to make stupidly powerful gear.

Hopefully they patch this ridiculous exploit.
