End game, some questions.

Hi guys and gals, I have just completed the main mission and the civil war missions, first play through. I have a few questions that maybe you good people can answer. (Spoilers below)

A little about my character to help with background, A true nord that fights for Ulfric, level 31. Focused on fighting prowess. Wears orc armour uses ebony sword. Wholly good character. Expert Difficulty

The main mission: I loved the story line and everything this game has had to offer but the final battle with Alduin left me wanting more. It seemed way too easy. A quick dragonrend and marked for death and he was dead within five minutes. I travel back and the only person that seemed to have anything to say was the greybeards. So my question here is, is that it? If so seems like a rather played down ending.

Now the civil war missions are what have left me with a bitter taste in my mouth so many unanswered questions.

For one the stormcloaks won, and yet still Ulfirc will not be named high king straight away, does this happen at any point latter on like the way solitude magically rebuilds itself after 24hrs?

The Thalmor.... yeah so these guys pulled the strings, are still a menace, and still have a presence in Skyrim correct? Do we ever have to deal with these invaders? Seems like we should, the imperial fight was only half the battle. So... yeah what gives?

Also just as with the main mission, it has a very abrupt end with the whole ‘go your own path.’ Are there no little side missions? Route this imperial camp here, Thalmor agents here ect that you can get from Ulfric and the like?

And more to the point with civil war and main quest.... I just saved the world and united Skyrim, no parade? No party? No nothing, really? Selfless acts and all I get that but seems like no one cares that you are the saviour of... well everything.

So in summary:
What’s with the Thalmor?
Do we see Ulfric named High King?
And is this really the way it has ended? With so many unanswered questions, and what feels like an incomplete storyline? Or are we expecting some dlc to carry this on.
I hate to seem like I am moaning and criticising the game, because I have really enjoyed it and will continue to enjoy it. Its just this ‘ending’ seems like it is left wanting.

Thanks in advance for any information / opinions on this

1. the thalmor are another loose thread, they keep harassing people no matter what/ their random patrols will also keep appearing. we don't get to deal with them in this game

2. no, same thing on the other side of the war. the leader of the enemy dies and jarls are replaced, thats about it

3. note that the game doesnt actually end, its an open ended game after all. for answers to how things actually turned out in the end you'll have to wait till the next game and see what they chose for the lore

your actual decisions, or rather lack thereof, do not affect anything in the game or story other than a few minor things in your current save file
i suppose to biggest decision you make is picking a side in the war, as it results in jarls being replaced and two cities being wrecked

as for he mainquest, its a set story you cannot stray from. you can only choose to simply not do it, buts thats all.

so yes, its going to feel incomplete, because thats how its designed, open ended so conclusions anywhere. atleast until the next game, only then will we find out what happened apart from the mainquest
