Granted, it's not powerful enough to shoot through stuff, but I'm sure it could very well injure you, or at least hurt like hell and leave a burn.

I would seriously love to have the 1mW laser pistol thing.

Although it goes to show that if some person can make one in his house, its scary to wonder what the underground government scientists have cooked up in regards to that.

Based on our current gun control laws its absolutely impossible for a citizen militia to effectively fight the government. So you should be afraid already.

Not that I would currently support such an action, our government has failed us completely........yet.......

Back on topic, navy already has laser cannons, I don't know if they're deployed in open combat, but they have tested them.

Yes but if a militia were to fight a government through force of arms then I doubt its laws would hold any sway over them (the militia) would they?

Actually it would be quite easy for a citizen militia to effectively fight the government. The only threat to the militia would be the government's airpower. Everything else is vulnerable to IEDs and Small Arms (both of which are easy to come by).
