Enjoying it!

You can say i'm easily impressed, but when i exited that cryo chamber and first saw what the game looked like my jaw just dropped, then i started drooling. Then you enter the garage for the first time and see dust particles floating around in the light. Sure the texture loading/popping is the worst i've ever seen in a game, but i can't imagine they'd be able to improve that without effecting the graphic quality. Also, when you're in the thick of battle or having fun you don't notice it because you're not looking fot it. When you're moving around taking in the sights you will definately see it, and some areas are better and some are worse. Best looking game i have ever played on a console (got for 360). Looks aside, the game is also fun to play, right away you're zipping around on an ATV doing quests. I read some other people wishing it was more like fallout or borderlands, i completely disagree. I hate shooter rpg's, shooters are supposed to just be shooters, leave rpg's to series like final fantasy or zelda. I fell asleep trying to play fallout, and borderlands i never even bothered with. The only other thing i'd like to add is i feel bad for the pc users, the fixes are underway though.

Sorry but this is not a pure first person shooter.....

1). Vendors and merchants and a money system.

2). Dune buggy races.

3) Crafting items.

I would say that Rage is 70% first person shooter and 30% role playing game.

I know that, but there's no leveling/grinding, it's not as open world, which i hate, it's not as complicated regarding menus and character development and weapons. These are things i like in rpg's, but not shooters. Actually i don't like open world in any game. I have played fallout and rage is no where near as boring or rpg like as that. I tried getting into fallout several times, everytime i'd make it out of the vault and lose interest. I'm not saying it's a bad game, just not my kind.

I hear you on that point....role playing games aren't everyones cup of tea and can become a micromanagement hell (aquiring food, aquiring water, etc) and leveling can become tedius.
