Entering The Strip

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 4:47 am

I am trying to enter The Strip. Every time I try to go through the gate the load screen comes up and looks like it is loading into the next area (The Strip) but then the game crashes and I get a black screen and have to manually reboot my 360. When the game comes back up it shows that there was an "Auto Save Error". This happens every time I try to enter The Strip. I am stuck. All of my current missions are inside The Strip and I cannot find anyway to get in without the game crashing. This is very frustrating and I am not sure what to do to fix this. I have quite a few "saves" but I do not know how far back I need to go to fix this issue or if going back will even fix the issue. I would hate to have to replay through the portion of the game that I have already played only to have this issue happen again. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Wear the "Old Cowboy Hat." I'm guessing you killed the guy the Garrets wanted their caps back from.

Its a ridiculous glitch and even more ridiculous solution but it works.

I found a work around for this as I had the same issue. You need to take the monorail from the NCR base @ Camp McCarren into the strip, this could be an issue if you are not friendly with the NCR. But you maybe able to sneak thru with a stealthboy?

The old cowboy hat can be found with Blake (merchant at Crimson Caravan). Also, I heard (not sure if it is true), the old cowboy hat can be found at Old Mormon Fort and at Mick and Ralph's. I have had the same issue and I tried the monorail route. I can get into the last two sections of the strip through the monorail, however, when approaching the gate to the strip holding the Gomorrah and etc., the game freezes. I am hoping the next patch can correct this issue as it is really the only one I have had with FONV.

It is the only major problem that I have found too. I have had some long load times and some short screen freezes but I guess that should be expected of a game this huge. Thanks for the help. I will look for the hat tonight.
