Alright I just had to share this. after clearing out Ironhide Barrow (the one where the Redguard girl and Argonian mage want you to help them clear it), you can exit out the back where you come out on the very tip top of a large mountain. I wandered about a bit up here a bit, discovered some Dwemer shrine or something with nice loot, then all of a sudden I notice a huge Dragon perched almost perfectly still on an outcropping a ways ahead. I almost didn't notice it because it was so still.
Now for those of you who have beat it, it's the Mt. Anthor Dragon. He is perched above a word wall that you are obviously meant to approach from below. But I see that the mountain I am walking up goes above said Dragon, and my sneaky character wonders "could I really?"
Naturally I climb up the mountain and look down directly onto the dragon. I'm terrified at this point. Sneaking up on a dragon is not like sneaking up on some guard. Who knows if he will notice me, or is scripted to start attacking as soon as I'm within a certain range? Nevertheless, I crawl down some ledges along the cliff that lead down to the dragon's outcropping. I sneak up close behind him. He doesn't notice. I continue sneaking at a snail's pace. I'm under his tail. I touch him. I almost wet my pants, but the dragon still doesn't notice. Alright, this is it!
Dual dagger sneak attack! The Dragon roars in anger as most of his health drains away. He flies up into the night sky.
I slide down the steep cliff to the word wall, thinking he has run away (his red dot even left my compass). No sooner do I learn the word than I hear a loud crash behind me. The dragon has landed, and begins trying to fry me in a word wall barbecue. I dodge into the corner of the word wall to take cover (noticing a burnt corpse of someone who was not so lucky against this dragon's attack). As soon as his fiery breath subsides, I pop my head out and deliver two quick arrow shots to the dragon equivalent of a jugular. The dragon lifts his head and roars one last time, and falls to the ground.
