I didnt know him personally but upon hearing the saddened news I am glad he was able to visit Bethesda. For those who think this is a dumb post and have no idea what I am speaking of. Erik was brought into the game as Erik The Slayer, his internet user was Immok The Slayer hence you have this dreamer type follower.

Edit: In real? Idk... He did have medical concerns I believe. Im just glad and thankful he got at least one thing he wanted ^^

His name references Erik West, whose internet alias was "Immok the Slayer", a visitor to http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Bethesda's HQ during http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_V:_Skyrim 's development. Bethesda was so impressed with his knowledge of http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_IV:_Oblivion that they gave him an in depth tour of Bethesda studios and decided to create a character in the name of Erik. Oh I just met Erik the Slayer the other day in skyrim, and had no idea about the backstory to the character until now. It's so sad.

Whats eerie, my dad died of cancer in Feb. of last year, and ever since playing Skyrim my only follower was Erik the Slayer. This is the first time I am hearing this.

This is why I frequently use him.Found out about the reference by reading all of the character bios on uesp I think.Anyways,once you know about the reference,his random dialogue seems sad,and somewhat somber.I dont know if its intentional,but it gives me the willies sometimes.

Now I feel sad for sacrificing him at that daedric shrine...Atleast he got to play Skyrim before he passed. Beth are nice guys for that
