Escapist's Choice 2011

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 7:15 am

I know quite a few people from here also post over at the Escapist, but I thought I'd post a link here due to how overwhelmingly well Bethesda is going this year, no doubt due to Skyrim. 3 out of the top 5 games are Beth games, and the only recent Bethesda game not on there is Oblivion. So, go on over and throw in your support for Bethesda or your favourite games in the next round, if you're so inclined.

Full top twenty list:

1 - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - 212 points
2 - Mass Effect 2 - 110 points
3 - Fallout 3 - 105 points
4 - The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind - 70 points
5 - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - 66 points
6 - Half Life 2 - 66 points
7 - Red Dead Redemption - 66 points
8 - Minecraft - 62 points
9 - Bioshock - 55 points
10 - Starwars: Knights of the Old Republic - 52 points
11 - Deus Ex - 51 points
12 - Assassin's Creed 2 - 50 points
13 - Portal - 49 points
14 - World of Warcraft - 47 points
15 - Fallout: New Vegas - 44 points
16 - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - 43 points
17 - Mass Effect - 40 points
18 - Metroid Prime - 36 points
19 - Baldur's Gate 2 - 35 points
20 - Halo: Combat Evolved. - 32 points

So, are you surprised by the results? I know I certainly was by Mass Effect 2 being in second place. It's a good game - but is it really that good?

I'm always surprised by how much people love Mass Effect 2. I've only played a few hours into it but it doesn't seem that amazing. Good to see a few of my favourite games are up there (BioShock, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3).

Knew I'd forget something. Link is now at the bottom of the OP. Next round of voting will probably be in a new thread, but I'll try to post a link when it goes up. If I remember, of course - I seem to be having trouble with that lately... :P

Same, I don't like ME2 anywhere near as much as the first. I don't like the characters much, the way experience and inventory is handled kinda svcks, and the fact that Bioware forgot to add any weapon hotkeys on PC means you have to scroll through your weapons in the mid of combat, which is awful.
