Why... WHY!? (yes, it's a QQ post!)

Make us wait an extra 3 days until we can play the game over here? :(
Even tho i allready got my collectors ed. Steam wont let me play until friday!-.- And the agny of looking at the game, preloaded in steam, and with all the bonus stuff from the collectors ed laying around on my desk makes my trigger finger more and more iching to kill some scumbags!

Anyone else feels like i do?

It's annoying, but it's the same for nearly every game developed outside Europe. The only exception I can of think of was Alpha Protocol, which was released here first for some reason.

If you have a problem with it, call up retailers and warehouses and have them adjust your new media day to Tuesday. I'm sure they'll get right on it. You get stuff on the shelf on Friday, we get stuff on the shelf on Tuesday. This game is no exception.

I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs yet, just one annoying one, DON'T mod your weathered 10mm pistol from the classic pack, you'll get a giant red and white exclamation point that surrounds your body. Apparently it was put there to warn the developers to apply a skin to the modded/new weapon before releasing the game...but the didn't so we have to wait for that patch. That's all I've encountered so far...

As for release dates, I do feel that it's rather unfair for one country to get something before another, but that's just how release dates work due to shelving times. I feel that developers and publishers should ship games at a certain time for other countries to try and even out the releases to a day rather than 3-5 days.

I've never understood delayed international releases.

Is it distributor politics? Does it have something to do with trade / export law?

Whatever the reason, that svcks for you Europeans. Hopefully you'll enjoy it when you get it, and it will have been worth the wait.

It's not delayed. Europe puts new releases on the shelf on Friday. The US puts new releases on the shelf on Tuesday. That's how our stores work. And digital releases coincide with stores.

That was a special case and probably forced a worldwide delay of an extra week or more.

So it caused delay for everyone... Who cares? Everyone was still on the same exact line, and it by my logic at least acted against piracy (you really, really wanted the game ASAP... You bought it. As it is for F:NV, I guess there might already be pirate versions out BEFORE any non-American has had chance to get official).

As for "new media day". Rubbish. If Bethesda chose to release the game on Wednesday, every store would scramble to get them on shelves on that day. Stores are not stupid, they put games on shelves as soon as they can, specially for products like this which are sure to sell well. They won't wait days for some arbitary "tradition" if there is money to be made.

At least the game is released world wide the same week :P

A decade ago it wasn't uncommon that the european launch was 2 months later. Quite a difference.

They figured out that people would start getting the game other means if there was too much delay.
Now they just have to make last logical jump and grasp that one global release is only real way to do it.

on the plus side, an update patch has come out for the game already, so we don't get as many bugs as our American friends.
