Steam Workshop and Nexus

So I saw this cool mod on Nexus, recently uploaded. Tried it, liked it, but as I try not to use mods from there (for few reasons), I was wondering if there is a chance to release it on SW. I quickly wrote a msg, to the person who made it. Decided not to ask questions/requests on the comment page, as some people on Nexus love to award such things with "-" reputation for no good reasons.
I didn't have to wait long to recive an answer and to be honest, I wasn't really surprised it was a "no". What hit me, was the fact that the author said it's Nexus exclusive because "that" community is much nicer.

I felt offended. Am I a part of a worse community?

Everybody has their opinions. For example, why are you on these forums rather than a fan-made one? Most likely because you prefer these ones.
Personally, I prefer the Nexus to any other mod site, simply because I feel I can trust it. That said, this is all based on Oblivion mods, since I own Skyrim on console. Although I doubt there's much difference between the Skyrim and Oblivion nexus sites.
