expansion strategy guides?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:56 pm

So both Morrowind and Skyrim had "expansion packs" not "DLC's" and all had Prima Strategy guides for them. Bloodmoon and Tribunal were included in a "GOTY" strategy guide, where as Oblivions Shivering Isles got it's own Guide.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything on strategy guides being released for dlcs?

I know SkyrimWiki is helpful (even better) but my computer is from the 90's and takes about 2 hours to start up (literally) i can't afford anything and using it on my tiny smartphone sux. Would enjoy some good ole paper n ink.

I read UESP from my Iphone. Makes taking a dump so much more entertaining.

if you're ever stuck on something and dont have the internet, i bought the guide for oblivion. was tremendously helpful. as far as one being released for skyrim(or re-released including the dlc) i wouldn't expect to see one until a little after they have finished releasing all of the expansions.

When I was playing on xbox 360, I always had my laptop next to me, with the wiki site ready to go. My strategy guide has gotten little use.

It is possible that an updated strategy guide is in the works, though I wouldn't expect it on day one. If needed, try to print out as much as you can from the wiki site, so you don't have to constantly go back and forth.

Even if you do have a problem, there's no point in buying a strategy guide when you have the internet.

I honestly think that strategy guides are going to go extinct before too long. Hopefully, the thing that will replace them as far as books on games you should buy will be art books. Currently, they tend to be reserved for collectors editions, but I'd like to see them available for order on their own.
