Who where they and where did they go and how did the go? Also where they normal human size because everything they made appears to be made for a human. Not a small dwarve. Even their armour is human size so where dwarves big in TES. I'm so confused...

The dwemer were the same size as other elves, but they earned the name "dwarves" from the beings commonly referred to as "giants."
