Fable 3 was, quite literally, the worst game i've ever playe, I'm sorry to say. I actually couldn't play past the first 2 hours. I loved Fable 2, though.

The first was the best, the last was the worst.

That's all I'm saying. I hope the fourth goes back to the way the first one was.

Fable III is usually hated throughout the internet

I don't even see the guy's videos (he's kind of annoying) but Angry Joe (iirc the name) had a top...30 (?) reasons Fable III svcks actually. And he mentioned he loved the original Fable and the 2nd to an extent

Personally I enjoyed the original one, downhill since then imo.

My feelings towards Fable....

Fable 1: One of my favorite games on the original Xbox.
Fable 2: Not as good as Fable 1, but still fun and immersing in its own different way.
Fable 3: Peter Molyneux took a dump in a game case.

Fable 2 & 3 basically play themselves, since there is no way for you to lose progress. For the record, I liked fable 1 & 2, but 3 is just lame. Fable - The Journey looks even more like a poop pile.

We dint do "official" threads here.

Fable 1 was the only good game in the series. I played all three and while I liked 2 it was nowhere near 1 and 3 was pretty lame, though I liked the concept.

Only administrators can sanction an official thread, I have removed this from the subject line. I also removed the three since apparently this is a thread about the series, not just the last game. Lately, please do not bump a thread unless it has been inactive for over 24 hours.

As for the topic at hand, I don't own an XBox or XBox 360, although the Fable games never looked like my cup of tea. To each his own.

The first fable was, really, one of the best games ever made. But the sequels really just strayed from the original vision of the game. They were awful. If I were Lionhead, I would just start over with a new IP.

I played Fable: The Lost Chapters for PC and thought it was pretty good. I played Fable II for the 360 and had a blast. The third one I played with a friend and it was pretty fun, the problem being it felt like a ( very ) dumbed down version of Fable II. Overall, the series is one that I don't have strong feelings for either way.

I've only played Fable. I really enjoyed it, but never got around to 2 or 3. I didn't grab 2 because a friend said they ruined most of the stuff people liked about the first one. That and it stayed at $30-40 used price for years, and I usually wait till it's cheaper, especially if I'm uncertain about it. And I didn't play 3 because I haven't played 2 yet.

I really liked the Fable series, despite the fact that the games don't live up to the hype. Peter M might be crazy, well no he is crazy, but atleast he's trying. I'd hate to be a part of lionheads team though, they are probably wondering how the hell they are gonna pull it off everytime he joins a meeting. :P

Whether you like Fable or not though, everyone agrees the art and atmosphere is really good right? I consider Albion to be one of the better game worlds out there, it really has a unique feel.

I haven't played Fable 3 though, although I'm really curious to see why its so bad.

This. I hope if they make a fourth game, they for once improve the game and Peter Molyneux doesn't get to talk untill the game is released so he doesn't get everyone's hope up, to be directly brought down upon release,

Have anyone read http://www.amazon.com/Fable-Balverine-Order-Peter-David/dp/0441020062? I quite enjoyed it.

I actually like the much maligned Two Worlds so I wouldn't totally discount Fable 3 by internet word of mouth. Might buy it if it gets cheap enough.

I didn't mind Fable 1, never played 2 or 3 though.

My main problem with the series was Pete Molyneux lying about things at interviews

Two Worlds was actually very good, in my opinion; I also liked Fable 3 a lot. Neither were perfect, but both were a lot of fun; I find it hard to accept either as the "worst game ever", though it's become trendy to bash them. To be fair, I probably preferred the original Fable to Fable 3, though that was largely down to rather hard to identify elements like the overall atmosphere; the attempt to dispense with menus in Fable 3 also didn't work well, but Fable's were messy and awkward to use, so neither really triumphs there.

Never played Fable 2 since it was never released on the PC, though prior to Fable 3's debut it seemed to have much the same reputation, something that I'd have been equally happy to dismiss!
