earlier today i seen one of the coolest things i've ever seen in my video gaming life... i was retrieving the golden claw fro the nice trader in riverwood, it was my wood elf scout and my bosmer buddy faendal after we took down some skeletons with our amazing archery skills Faendal got caught in that corridor of swing axes. I looked back after making it through and seen faendal was on his knees like all followers do when theyre recovering from serious injury, only difference here is faendal never got out of this position. i waited an 2 hours and faendal was still hunched over on the floor, i kept going foward and noticed he was still following me though he was literally crawling on the floor, so i told faendal we should part ways for the time being hopeing he would run back to riverwood but he literally crawled his way back home. I watched him crawl back the way we came in hunched over holding his wound the whole time. I eventually went back to riverwood and sure enough faendal was not only still alive but back to normal...the guts on this guy, others have prob seen this before but i haven't, really an awesome sight to see.

Most followers will go down on a knee, and then follow you. If you would have kept going, he would have come after you. Then he'll heal himself, or you can heal him.

PS: If you're on the PC, you can make followers "essential," that way they won't die.

I've seen that happen too with normal NPCs. I'll walk into a house or a bar and there's someone on their knees looking like they're going to keel over, but I can still interact with them as if their in a normal state. It's pretty funny glitch.

sometimes followers get stuck on knees it's a glitch I think, shield bashing seems to get them back up

LOL you must not have liked your follower. "Oh he's down on one knee clutching his wound. I should smash him with my shield. Oh look he got up!"

I was just exploring Fellglow Keep and shot one of the enemy wizards with my bow while hidden. His body landed kneeling in front of one of the sarcophaguses (sarcophagi?) with his hand on the edge of it, so it looked like he was praying over the body.

you waited 2 real hours or you waited in game?
you could've used healing hands to get him healthy in 2 seconds

Faendal?.. Im pretty positive I decapitated him, took his head and put it in a cart with cabbages and dumped is body in the nearby river..

i have a better experience with farendal. Me and him goe and kill giants. The giant sent him flying 500 km into the skies. After i killed the giant, i spent 10min trying to find farendal and i found him! Lying.....down
at first i thgt he was dead, but he then said 'lets go'. i was like wdf, i can still interact with him but he is lying down FLAT FACED on the ground and not moving.

So i part ways with him since it was a glitch...AND FARENDAL....went towards riverwood, lying down, face on the ground, floating on the grass and moving,
that rofled me, so i decided to kill him. And when i shot him, he flew 500km into the air again...never to be found
bethesda is the best company evar!

haha great story...yours had a sadder ending though...
