Which followers have you lost in battle and moved on from?
How and where did they die?
Why didn't you reload a save this time around?

I've lost Sven and Aranea Lenith.
Aranea was so badass but she died fighting a dragon priest and it seemed like a fitting end so I looted her and stored a few goo things with her then cremated her remains by dragging her body into a nearby fire and then I cast fire spells on her.

The only follower i lost was this certain female from the Companions guild, she didn't die because of war , i killed her. Some of you might know of a certain quest which you sacrifice someone (BC) on a magnetic-like pillar that imprisons them. I really hated this lady so i killed her there :)

Apart from that i really don't like followers since they tend to get in my way , the only follower i really liked was J'zargo because he was a Kajiit like myself.

I thought the followers are invincible?
Anyway I dont like companions, too many bugs around them + some are invincinble as it seemed to me.
I never reload.

Also, your post contains minor spoilers about the game and might be more feeting to the spoilers forum.

I thought the followers are invincible?...
Only one of them is an essential character: Mjoll the lionness in Riften. All the others can get killed.

i used aela for that, as she was the only one i couldn't purify. i hate werewolves, and am ashamed at becoming one. also her second wave and final quests were glitched (great job guys). also, my days as a werewolf stat is glitched. i cured myself, lost the power, but still a werewolf?

Only friendly fire can kill a follower. I've lost both Lydia and Meeko. They died out in the wild, probably when we were fighting a dragon. I didn't realize they were dead until i noticed they weren't following me any more.

The followers are unkillable ;) If you lost one YOU were the one who killed them :D Because if they lose their health against an enemy the regain their health after a short time. ;)

I never take followers, they just get in the way.

Actually not quite true as I do take a follower when a quest requires a "victim" ;)

On PC, if your follower dies... use console commands (~) then click on your dead follower and type "resurrect". But take note, loot their items first coz if you resurrect your fallen companion without looting the item then its gone for good.

As for the topic, Lydia died 2-3 times when she got hit by my fireballs. So I changed to "Marcurio" a mercenary found in the Bee and Barb in Riften and so far he hasn't died yet. Well, he's a ranged spellcaster that uses Chain Lightning as his offensive skill, uses Firebolts as well, heals himself when hp is low and uses wards to deflect magic attacks. I equipped him with the best gears that I can possibly make however he doesn't change his robes and shoes but I had my way around with the consoles so he wears everything I give to him.

The funny thing is I died from my follower "Marcurio". Since Chain Lightning bounces from 1 target to the other and I was fighting with a Draugr Deathlord. I was at a very low health and so as the Draugr Deathlord then suddenly Marcurio last hitted the Draugr Deathlord then the Chain Lightning bounced to me then I also died. I was like "WTF"...

So I guess he's more of a 'Waiter' now than a 'Follower'

I was doing this one quest when I was attacked by Thalmor warriors clad in elven armor.

Annekke was also wearing a full set of elven armor. And we were fighting in tight spaces.

My followers have a strict no-helmet policy now. :(

Haven't really lost one. They just screw up my strategy during a fight. They rush in when I am doing a ranged or sneak.....or they try to get between me and the mob and then they catch my next swing during melee fights.....at that point they something about being on my side or be careful blah blah. Now I just park em at the entrance so they can pack the loot.

I had Aranea Lenith too, for such a long time. I agree, she's so awesome and compliments my character so well since my character's a full warrior (no magic).
She fell during the fight with Potema's minions (died fighting a lot of draugrs / draugr deathlords / draugr wights..)

I didn't reload because I'm positive that it's gonna happen all over again anyways. :( I also didn't loot her because my carry capacity had also reached its limit so I let her keep my legendary Orcish armor set (my character is already wearing an Ebony set). I also dragged her to be nearby candles to sort of.. pay her some respect.

Anyways, now I hired a new mage follower: Marcurio, I couldn't be happier, not only he's also a badass mage, he also give out great comments in particular locations/situations. A much.. "friendlier" follower than Aranea who keeps saying things in creepy tones.. "What do you need.... champion of Azura....?" lol

I'm a little disappointed that there are so few mage followers in this game though.. but oh well.

The only one I've lost so far is J'zargo. He died defending Winterhold college from Magical Anomalies, and is now just a pile of ash out in front of the entrance to the college. I was really kinda upset about that since he's the only one who could level up to 81, and one of the only two Khajit followers. Plus he's so fuzzy and adorable. :(

I loled at the comments that he says on the Forsworn. I just killed a Female Forsworn and then stopped a bit to loot her then he says "These Forsworn doesn't even have the decency to dress". And also when you ask him to follow you then he says "Try not to walk in any spiked filled pits or filthy skeever dens".

Yeeaaaahhh... pretty much everyone who follows me dies. Being a companion of mine is a death sentence, no exceptions. Thank goodness for the ability to reload! My orc warrior married Jenassa after hiring her on and spending a great deal of time adventuring with her. She wasn't content to stay at Hjerim in Windhelm being a housewife, so she kept tagging along. I entered a Forsworn den for part of the main quest line and attacked the same Forsworn that was attacking her. She had just gone down for the count, and was recovering, and as I went to swing my warhammer at her attacker, Esbern killed him with a ranged attack. Meaning that the Forsworn that was standing between me and my wife was no longer there. The game kicked into fatality mode and showed a kill cam of me bashing someone in strangely familiar dragonscale armor and then smashing their head off. Mind you, this all happened very quickly, so I wasn't sure why my victim looked so familiar, until the camera went back to first person and I got a chance to examine the body, and my wife's newly separated head rolling around on the floor.

:whoops:

First character, (Duel-Sword using, bow using, light armor wearing, sneaky Khajiit):

R.I.P Faendal
I was going to see about getting you as a follower, but a dragon decided otherwise. Hope your happy Sven.

Second character, (Two-handed Sword using, heavy armor wearing, warrior Argonian):

R.I.P Lydia
Died by the fireball of a Hagraven.
"That looks more a giant gash on her back by a claymore"
She was killed by a Hagraven!! Shut up!

Third character, (Magic using Khajiit specializing in Destruction and Conjuration):

R.I.P Lydia (again)
Slain by a Bandits arrow.
"Why is she all burned up and lying face first in a pile of ash then?"
A bandit killed her! Shut up!

R.I.P Meeko
Fell to a Falmer scum's axe.
"Wait a minute! I saw you hit him with a fire..." *BOOM!*
Killed by a Falmer!!! Shut up!!

RIP Sven.
