fallout 3 game play reward

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:38 pm

i think he means like something to the players of old fallouts, like an easter egg or unique item, not overpowered alien blaster or anything, but kind of like how harold appeared in fo1, 2, and 3 (why bethesda, whyyy did you have to stick him to the ground). or in gears of war how carmine appears in both gears...and dies each time (hes going to be in the third one but he might live...or die again, their voting on it). i think itd be a good idea, and it doesnt perfectly have to fit the lore, kind of like how we can get a vault 13 outfit if we preorder from gamestop :P

yh, it doesnt have to make sense, its only a game after all but a little something would be nice

Well if it's a easter egg or something I could agree with that, I thought you were going towards the, "Uber powerful shock ray gun thingy..." but still, I just don't like the idea, my opinion though.

You have no logic behind it though, not getting on you, but how would it work at all? Like others have said, the 2 games aren't even related, how would you be rewarded for your progress from fallout 3? Really think about it before posting a thread of it.

EA did a reward system for Bad Company 2. If you played a previous Battlefield game, you could get "Veteran" status and recieve an M1 Garand.

This is a good idea... I haven't seen anything like it mentioned before...

This. I wouldn't want a game breaking package though, maybe just a unique outfit or gun that is good but not the best in the game.

hes talking about previouse game data scanning, it was a gimick they used with some older ps1/2 and xbox games, also with a few game cube games, and some ds games would unlock something for having a gba game sometimes with but not always a completed game save.

I could see it as an easter egg, maybe a useless item like the anti fev vial from fo 3, you find it in a mail box.
maybe a courier from the east comes up to you and gives you a bottle of aqua pure, or maybe a vault 101 jump suit.
maybe you meet a garry.

I wouldn't use it to give you anything uber, but maybe use it to unlock a special event or semi useless item. te, maybe unlock 3dog's radio station.

lets see, one of the more comedic uses was in mgs1 and the mgs1 gc remake psycho mantis would scan your memory card and comment on game save data for certain games you have played.
and in uncharted 2 it would read your game and trophy data from the first uncharted and give you some cash to unlock stuff in the extras menu and multilayer early.

They've also done it with Xenosaga, and more recently Mass Effect. It works best with direct sequels, which New Vegas is not.

Dragon Age really turned me off pre-order packs, and I personally enjoy scrounging for my stuff, so a system that just hands me items at character creation isn't very engaging for me. That said, the Liberty Prime snowglobe idea amuses me greatly.

I think getting a package from someone from back east would be cool.

Ehhh, its iffy. I wouldnt want some overpowered alien blaster, fatman or gatling laser, maybe like what Alive said, maybe a suit of T-45d Power Armour if it isnt going to be found in New Vegas. Something unique but not godly basically.

I would like a neat little momento from FO3 as an easter egg maybe.

It is ***possible*** for Fallout NV to detect a FO:3 achievement points, and unlock an extra goodie. Of course I'm sure they wont do that, but other 360 games have done that.

There is a possible reward for finishing FO3 , the satisfaction that FONV will probrably be much better improvement over FO3.

One's reward for playing Fallout 3 is the playing of Fallout 3 itself. An unfair item advantage in New Vegas as a result of enjoying Fallout 3 is what I consider to be a punishment. New Vegas is a separate game, and I want it to act like it.

hey i was just thinking, what if bethesda but in a system where depending on how much game progress you did in fallout 3, then you would get a reward in fallout new vegas, for example a rare gun, or armour or something. sorry if there is already a thread about this, i searched but i couldnt find one

As in Mass Effect's "download your character from the first game" idea? It'd be interesting for owners of the first game, but they are mostly unrelated other than some references from Fallout 3 are going to be in Fallout New Vegas, as I read in a magazine recently.

something like that yes but dont download the character because imagine downloading a lvl 30, with all the rare guns and armour...

Seeing as how it wouldn't make any sense what so ever to have the alien weapons in New Vegas unless there's a crashed flying saucer somewhere I'd most certainly love it I who have fallout 3 and Mothership Zeta could get those weapons and ammo to fallout New Vegas.

Can't help it, I love them pew pew guns.

Come on now. Fallout games are supposed to give us a fresh start, and require a separate mindset from the prequels. What's next, putting Imperial Guards in the game if we completed Oblivion?

That would be awesome! Imagine what it'd be like to see Imperial Guards in New Vegas!
