Fallout 3: New Vegas Expansion pack.

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:04 pm

Title pretty much sums up the game, complete with bugs, glitches and crashes.

Oh and also, what seemed to be a developer mishap in Fallout 3, I.E The way you can't continue the game after it ends seems to be nothing more now then a money making tactic in New Vegas because yup boys and girls, it's the same again.

Just wait for the DLC so you can play after you finish the main story line, I'm sure your money will be well spent because, you know, that 60$ you spent buying New Vegas just wasn't enough to get you this far.

No, it's not an expansion pack. Tired of hearing this by now.

Obsidian has provided an explanation for this, and it's not a money-making tactic. Google it.

Fifteen hours in, no glitches so far.

And no, it's not Fallout 3. I can tell because I'm enjoying this alot more (and I say that as someone who really liked FO3).

And they are perfectly in their right to do so.

I've said what I have thought about the game, as per my opinion, why should it differ from the weight of anyone else's?

Who cares what you call it. I don't give a damn if it is called an expansion pack, a new game, sequel or whatever you want to label it as. I am getting over 100 hours of entertainment for $60. I will take that everytime. Sure beats the return on investment that going to a movie gives these days.

I love exploring Fallout worlds and I am thoroughly enjoying this one thus far.

My thoughts, exactly. I am getting dozens of hours of entertainment for what it would cost me to drink at my favorite local watering hole for a few hours... And the plus side is that I am not going to wake up with a killer headache the day after investing some time in exploring the Wasteland. ;)

Unless of course, you explore the Wasteland while indulging on your favorite drink. Which I have done a couple of times. Nothing like fighting a Deathclaw when you see double!

My only complaint is that I'm seeing a lot of sloppy geometry (rocks, mostly) where I can see 'under' and 'through' them due to the lack of a texture application to the inside. Had they been fully placed on the ground or whatever, I wouldn't have that sudden loss of the tension of crawling through a cave full of fire geckos that are way over my head when I notice someone couldn't spare the second to make a rock look like a rock instead of the shattered illusion of a rock made by positioning the shape such that I could see into its cold, hollow inside.

Also that high-motion geometry like clothing items lacks an interior texture is kinda lazy. I shouldn't see through the inside of a dude's clothes just because bumbled into an angle to see behind it a little.

I really hate it that people say that this is just an addon, this was made by obsidian, not Bethesda, they are two totally different companies with totally different styles, yes the new game has the same objects from fallout 3, and there is no reason to apply the texture to the inside, you don't see that, would you rather have no interior textures or no game because your graphics card can't run it

I think you missed my point. :D

I'd rather the geometry be positioned such that I don't see inside something that I should not be seeing inside. Like a rock that someone couldn't be troubled to put entirely on the ground or merge with another contour. I want to add that I know there are a LOT of rocks in this game and this thing is bound to happen, but in isolated locations like that cave full of Fire Geckos, you shouldn't have a situation where you do a lap around a massive rock and whoops it's not touching the cave floor and it's so high off the floor you can see into it.

The ones I see on cliffs and hills high up where I shouldn't even be trying to climb? Totally forgivable. Central structure in an isolated, independent location? Sloppy.

I mean, someone was paid to put that rock there, and he didn't double-check his work. I immediately found it while bumbling around looking for more prospector bodies.

I've found a few others, but this is the most memorable and easiest to describe or reference.

On clothing, though, that flaps around and such? That should be more attentively textured.

We've known this for months, it's not an big deal, and it's easy enough to continue wandering & exploring from an "almost at the end" save.

Non-issue.

IMHO.

(And I sincerely hope there isn't a "continue" DLC. Broken Steel svcked. It was un-needed. The only problem with the FO3 ending was that it had bad dialogue & situations. Not the fact that it ended.)
