Fallout New Vegas House?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 4:32 pm

Is there a house like the megaton house? I liked the ice cold nuka cola's ... are they in the game?

Oh, and I heard that if you register the Fallout 3 game as completed you'll automatically get a special house in New Vegas, true or urban legend?

The Fallout 3 registration 'rumour' is a complete fabrication.

I don't think the Ice Cold Nuka Cola's are in, although there are a couple of Nuka Cola variations available, some of which can be crafted if you have the requisite perk.

The nearest abode to the Megaton or Tenpenny Tower one would be the one you gain access to via the main quest.

If anything. I'd say

Presidential Suite= Superior version of TPT room.
Caesars Legion Safehouse= Possibly like Megatons? (I've never been inside, seeing as I cannot bring myself to side with them.
NCR Safehouse- decent size
Followers of the Apocalypse safehouse- Quiet, comfy, and a doctor comes by once in a while.
Novac room- very cosey

That said, there are other places you may set up shop. I merely listed safehouses.

You are able to upgrade your suite at the Lucky 38 with workbenches and the like.. I think that's the only place that is comparable to the Fallout 3 houses. Even so, I find the Novac room to be the most convenient, as it is very close to the fast travel point and it has plenty of storage and a workshed nearby.

In the early game, Victor doesn't seem to mind if you use his shack for a safehouse. He's got a bed for some reason that I don't think he ever uses, so I'm free to get some shut-eye. He's got a sink that doesn't give me any additional rads. He's got a few toolboxes I can cram stuff into, and stuff will never disappear when I come back. It's right near the General Store where I can sell excess stuff for caps, which itself is right next to a crafting and reloading bench. A campfire is not too far away as well - especially if you just fast travel there.

the lucky 38 suite is the most like fallout 3 player house but you can't buy a theme or ice cold nukacola (but you can buy a fridge)

you can get ice-cold nuka by taking the nuka chemisty perk (along with the other two uniques)

Can Victor even get in his shack? I saw him once or twice standing outside facing the door, looked for all the world like he was bashing his head against the door and muttering "lost my bloody keys again" (OK I am sometimes a victim of my own imagination)....

Not really a house or anything, but I like staying in the Nevada State Highway Patrol building at the beginning.

I prefer the Novac room depending on wether or not my character is a loner, if he is like my current character, The Professinal (I based him completely off of the movie) then I'll have him in the Presidental suite but he will be the only one in there, and if not, then I just take up shop in my Novac room, nice and cozy. :)

Oh I do have the entire place. I had to do some nasty stuff but no slaves were involved. The assassin squads they send are fun though. ;)

just finished my first 90h playthrough today, and never moved out of victors shack, for the above mentioned reasons.
i don't like safehouses which require you to pass more than one loading screen, and the lucky 38 is also a bit too creepy for my taste, specially with that zombie-in-a-fridge nearby.

Me too. So the zombie is gone and it's all mine. Lots of food, a bed with a view, I love it.

Mr House was bit too nasty for me. I think I can do better. We'll see.
