fallout new vegas not launching?

hi
i was playing new vegas last night and it was getting extremely laggy so i quit. fast forward 24 hours and i cant launch new vegas from steam at all. it comes up with the pop up box saying launching fallout new vegas but the launch menu never comes up. :brokencomputer:

ive uninstalled, reinstalled then taken off all my mods and tried but nope nothing seems to kick in. im really not sure what to do.

I hope you get a useful answer, as I have exactly the same problem. You didn't mention your OS, but mine is Win XP. I have tried suggestions from other forums and threads with no success.

i had the same problem, i have win 7 64 bit, i tried compatibility mode (xp service pack 3) and it didnt work.


i need a solution too

(for info, this is my fourth post in 4 different threads with the same issue)

I found the issue, it was the Stutter remover. I had the replace heap on #5 which requires an external DLL. unfortunately the NV version didnt ship with any of the dlls for the different heap replacements so changing it back to #6 or using the DLLs from the oblivion version seemed to havve fixed my startup issue
