Fallout New Vegas Question.

So I've been wondering in Fallout New Vegas when you beat the main story if the game will just end like in Fallout 3 (before Broken-Steel came out) or will you be able to proceed to wander around and finish leveling you characters. If this has been asked before I'm sorry it's just been eating at me for some time. Any feedback is appreciated thanks in advance.

FONV has a definite ending - I believe the ending cinematic tells us what happened to the various towns and factions and it would be odd to do that and then let us roam free again. You could potentially be told about a town prospering over the next few years and then after the cinematic you could wipe them out. :)

However while there is a definite ending Obsidian is aware of how unpopular that was with FO3 and it looks like there will be a good point to pause the main quest right before the ending allowing you to free roam until you want to officially finish things off.
