I've just received an Update for Fallout: New Vegas on the Xbox360 Console and at first it seemed to make the Game run smoother but each time i try to use the VATS Slow motion move it freezes up the Game. I've tried removing the Update and Redownloading it to see if that would fix anything but it still keeps doing it. I've also tried a New SaveGame and it still keeps on happening.

This Game is really getting on my nerves, first i had to replay it from the Beginning after putting 32hours into my first Playthrough before it gave me the DLC Error and i'm not planning on redoing anything again. So hopefully this will be fixed very soon or else i might reconsider buying any Games from this Publisher.

I just had the same thing happen to me with the VATS freeze. Then again, I've also frozen four more times within a minute or two of loading while just walking around...all after this update. Before the update I'd only had 1 freeze up total. Maybe it's just bad luck, but I'm starting to wonder.

Sounds like you may need to start over. I know it svcks. I tried using VATS after the patch and couldn't make it crash. I was using the Cowboy Repeater if it matters.

There seems to be a bug regarding maintaining and repairing items, and I haven't seen it posted by anyone else. Thought it might help:

"Ok, after playing this game for a bit i found a huge bug in the Repair and Maintain System. Please be careful when Maintaining items. I have found in an example that when you maintain armors they disappear and cause a crash not long after. I was stuck for a bit crashing every time after this. Loading up and not repairing/maintaining these items have help the game run smooth. So just to help be careful maintaining items. It can cause a bug. The 2 pieces I was maintained/repaired were the "NRC Mantle Armor". This bug may occur with other items. It just freezes 30 seconds after u hit Y lmao. I hoped this can help others because i got passed a part which would freeze no matter what."

The game never froze on me a single time. Perhaps it is because I am on the Xbox 360 Slim console. The game did lag pretty bad though. :unsure:

I have the same freezing issue while trying to use V.A.T.S. I did not have this issue before the update.

I'm on a Slim as well lol. This guy fixed it. Try what he did:

"I played it unpatched for about five minutes, went to a different location, made a fresh save and then reapplied the patch. Works fine now, zero issues."

You'll have to clear your catch to remove the patch though.

I'm also having the VATS freezing bug ever since the update. No other problems previously, installed on xbox 360. I'm right outside of Nipton.

So there's a patch out for the 360 now? If it is live, does anyone know what it's for and if there are patch notes? I'm only concerned about fixing this corrupted save file. I don't care if I don't get my saves back, I just want to know the issue that causes the corruption is gone.

Yes, I'm having the same freezing issues on my XBox 360 when I try to use VATS. (I had no problems -- aside from minor visual bugs -- before the patch.) I will be very upset if I have to restart, and I don't wish to fiddle with clearing the cache or uninstalling any patches or anything of the like unless I absolutely must. I sure hope Bethesda is working to remedy this widespread problem!

Sry to say that it hasn't fixed it for me. My main save still freezes the game and the autosave still has the dlc issue. One thing to note, however, is the load indicator couldn't do a full rotation before freezing. Now it does one or two before freezing. I don't know if I'd call that progress but it is worth mentioning.

Next time, if you don't have anything useful to post then don't bother posting. This ain't the forum to make fun of People that have Dyslexia. Did anyone else have the same Problems i have?

I am on an Elite- not a a slim and I am having the same issue. I unapplied the patch and am playing offline. VATS = Permanent Pause button...

Same here. Freezing like a mother when entering VATS after the update. It played flawlessly before though =[

Dyslexia? No, I've always been an above average reader.

I applied the patch and killed 50 people in VATS with no problem.

Man... that is just rude.

Oh lighten up, it's not like he's actually Dyslexic. Dyslexia makes you mix up word order, not see the actual wrong word. Not to mention it applies to reading words, not writing them. My fiance is Dyslexic, this guy just wants to make someone feel bad for pointing out a grammatical error.

I am so glad I came on here before starting up the game today. I'm removing my ethernet cable and avoiding the patch for now.

Personally, I am going to clear the cache and not use the patch this time around until a much more perfected one can be issued. I hate to start over...but, I am. But, I won't touch the story line initially. It's going to hinder me.
