Fallout: A Solitary Game that still Lacks Something

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:46 pm

Directed towards Bethesda staff:

Why did you guys pull the whole corny "fade out - six sounds" crap on us? (Like from GTAIV, which could show a guy's dong but nothing else, apparently...) This game has a mature rating for a reason, which covers a lot in terms of "creative freedom", and plenty of gamers are already pathetic individuals as it is. You could at least throw us a bone. And where the bone is thrown into... (Pun intended.) six is a part of post-apocalyptia, and twice repeated "UNH UNH AHH!!" on a black screen in controlled environments such as hotels or strip clubs is not what I mean. (Not to mention I didn't collect all those vault suits for THIS sh*t.)

Female players should be prone to strong sixual advances and actions, and heckled. A lot. 90% of these players are really guys, anyway.
Males should reveal some dominatrix side of some women and get sixually attacked by lonely Super Mutants.
Charisma, Endurance, Strength, and Luck could have entirely new in-game uses... in bed.
six mini games! I already can't read the cards on my screen, so I want something else to do.
Popularity. You will gain it. The game will finally cover all aspects of what solitary gamers want.
New use for the squish sound, besides killing bugs. ^_^

Directed towards users:

Do you agree with my statements above? We're on the internet, anonymous, and 99% male. Don't be a "righteous" man here. Agree or don't, with better reasons that "it's wrong." We all know the masses are driven by six, and even the more intelligent folks have hormones. Reply honestly.

:P Nice way to get the crowd to love you....

I don't need six in a video game, I have a life and a girlfriend who aren't made up of pixels.

If you crave cyber six so much then why don't you just go and look through the collection of MODs?
I'm sure some of them will have what you're looking for.
(if you're on a console, like i am, i guess you'll just have to settle for none, or you could go out into the wide scary world and get the real thing?)

You are making some serious (And wrong) assumptions here.

Yes, the large percentage of gamers are male, but that percentage is smaller than 90%.

Some of your statements are possibly also verging a little towards being a bit offensive too.

edit: Also I don't see the need for six in games. Plus in a lot of countries it can result in a higher age rating and sometimes even a ban.

A couple of things, the topic is more than likely likely to degenerate in the tone of it's posts and thus be locked.
Also putting a graphical representation of it would cause the game to be rated higher or even banned in some countries which would reduce sales.
Lastly the Bethesda Forums are all covered by a PG13 rating, because they encompass various Beth Games some of which are of that rating and while others are rated higher the lowest common denominator has to be taken into account.

The game maybe rated 17+ but that's not who the company sells too, they know the largest sales will be those under the rated age, they also know if some of the parents see six in the game all hell will break loose, the parents are tolerant of violence, swearing, boood and gore, but when it comes to six it's a whole other matter.

A mature game doesn't necessarily mean "six". It means mature ideas and concepts. Besides, game development is a business, and most developers want to appeal to and be suitable for a wide range of people.

I am locking this thread, because your opening post reads pretty flame-baitish. I don't know why you are under the illusion that most gamers are solitary types, but you may want to expand your reading on the subject a bit.
