just thought id float this out there, while playing NV i always have this sense of nostalgia about my days as a kid playing fallout 1 and 2, this feeling is always amplified when you come across someone who talks about locations and events from california and the original games. my idea is simple; bethesda or even better obsidian should start releasing dlc that tells the stories and events that took place in previous fallout locations, but was never an event in previous fallout games.

take this as an example; while playing out the remnant quest in NV the remnant officer tells you that shortly after the oil rig was destroyed in fallout 2, navarro was conquered by the NCR, my idea is that they could make a dlc that places you as a soldier in the NCR/BOS as they take on the forces of the enclave at navarro. the dlc would be a lot like the operation anchorage dlc from fallout 3 in that you would be playing as a character unrelated to the normal game story line.

this would be relatively easy to accomplish and although the dlc could itself be accessed via NV it would not reflect upon your game and or character, it would be completely separate.

i for one would love this and it would add much to the lore of the fallout universe by filling in gaps in events between games, while not effecting the continual story line of fallout as they make new games
