Falmer Bug on Xbox 360?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:16 pm

Well I don't know if i'm in the right thread but i'll just post it here for now.

I've been playing that game for tons of hours now, but I never came across this problem:
I've been fighting against Falmer several times now, and never had any issues with that.

Now I decided to become a thief and I am following Mercer Frey through Irkngthand. I am playing on Adept difficulty, but everyone of those falmer kills me one hit, with an arrow, a sword or whatever else they use. I turned it down to novice, but still the same problem. I tried reloading on an earlier point to come back but.. nothing changed. I am having a really hard time going through there! (Oh, and I forgot to mention that I sometimes die of a heartattack only while seeing those guys.) Needless to say that I am wearing Legendary Armors and Fighting with two Legendary Daedric Swords.( I assume that should be plenty as up until now I mowed down Trolls with 2-3 hits.

Well, I'd be glad if someone could help me.
Cheers,
Tienor

I don't think it's a bug man, their just tuff is all. My Lv.81 toon can and does die by the hands of falmer if I'm not paying attention, I think they are along the same lines as the Forsworn that they scale with you and will kick your butt if your not careful but that's just my experience. If you try and run through the " Transcending the mundane" quest at low Lv.'s it becomes apparent that there are some falmer that are a couple Lv.'s higher then you and will destroy you in a blink. :swear: :ahhh: run away!!

Well, that explains a lot but still not the fact that back in the days, when i used to be a lower level noob, I never had problems mashing those guys down! ^^ And now it's seriously a single hit -> 520 health down

It's because you're now a level where you are getting the Falmer with the "special" titles. They're pretty significantly higher in level than you are, and will punk you without a thought. Once these Falmer start appearing, you have to go low-and-slow with any character. Falmer will also swarm you from what seems like literally nowhere, and where before your attack you only saw one Falmer, now you have six of them surrounding you and they beat you down with no trouble at all.

It's just the nature of the beast.

Do you have a disease? This may explain your squishyness
Like I said, my Lv.81 toon can and does fall rather easy when facing 3 Falmer and not thinking just swinging, there are different Lv. Falmer as well, if they are wearing any armor at all I try to be careful with those guys but the ones that are just wearing that loin cloth tend to be the lower Lv. ones.

Exactly! The only time I fall is when I get jumped by 3 or more, but most times I sneak around when facing Falmer :ninja:

If you see Lycanthropy as a disease, then yes. But except that, Nocturnal healed me before I went in.

Well, that sounds like i'll just keep on saving after each one i somehow managed to beat. But hey, thanks for the help! At the moment it just felt like impossible. I was only an hour away from rage quiting. And that means a lot...

Exactly. When I have any character go through a Falmer hive, I find myself saving far, far more often than I do at any other point in the game. Just save your game with an absurd amount of frequency and you won't have to repeat areas too much when you die.

And in Falmer hives, you will die.

A lot.

In rapid succession.

when you get to the point where you are able to watch him sneak up and kill those 2 falmer, dont watch and just keep on going, this was bugged for me aswell but i did this and it fixed it for me, and also if you get to where he would have killed them they will sill be just sitting their alive and you can walk up to them and everything, they wont move,

But the loot and the challenge makes it all worth quite a bit. So don't despair to harshly.

BTW, welcome to the Forums. If I were on my home computer, I'd give you the traditional...

FISHY STICK!!!

lol

But I'm at work... so I can't.

Oh it always does... I don't despair that quickly, i'm probably one of the most patient persons on the planet. But that just didn't seem legit.

Well, thank you, I appreciate it.

And that pirate always gave me the creeps... I was hoping to find one with K. Wests face instead. A bit more entertaining maybe. But thanks! ^^

In a way aren't we all working... i'm happy that I found a game that actually gives me the feeling that I really do work.

Exactly. I'm very proud of everything any of my characters has achieved because I feel as if I actually had to work for it. It wasn't just given to me like so many modern RPG's portray. I actually had to use my intelligence and wit to get past certain obstacles, not just wait for the cheap scripting to kick in and get me past a tough spot. *coughkingdomsofamalurcough*

like: do that, kill that, here, have a cookie... fable also dissapointed me on that part..

I hope Dragons dogma can seduce me a bit. At least the demo gave me some goosebumps.. I hope you'll be able to climb around the whole beast to find his weak points.. like really everywhere.

Oh, and if i can add one question that I had to think of after your "fishy stick" introduction. Does M'aiq have anything to do with any quest?

He did in Morrowind. In that game, everything he said was a literal lie, except for one Daedric Quest. that was the only thing he ever told the truth about.

In Oblivion and Skyrim, he's just a source of witty gossip and a way for the devs to pay homage to the Lore and some community created stuff.

M'aiq's reference to "M'aiq wishes he had a Fishy Stick to give you. But alas, he does not. M'aiq would love to have a stick made of fishies." is actually a reference to the tradition on this Forum to giving the new members a Fishy Stick.

It's pretty cool that the devs did this. ;)
