Falmer Nightprowlers

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 7:40 am

I'm on the quest to find Mercer, I have the two nightingales with me. There's an area I'm trying to get through that has the huge centurion. As soon as I try to sneak by, the falmer detect me and kill me instantly. I've tried all my expert destruction spells, paralyze, rout, scrolls of blizzard, etc. I can't figure out how to defeat them. Anyone have any suggestions?

Eh anything too hard or too big for my character I just get on a place where they can't go (like on top of a coffin or a edged rock) and pelt them with arrows.
This is done in sneak mode of course. So try finding a spot where the falmer cannot reach normally, hit them with a bow and make sure to not get detected.

Hope that helps.

ah, yes. This part got hairy for me once or twice. Luckily for me, my sneak was high enough for them not to detect me at all. My suggestion? Let Brinjolf at Karliah do the work and just hide as best as you can. They have unlimited knock downs and it might take a while, but they can defeat them eventually.

Oh that falmer...
i barely survived thanks to my sanguine rose and the other 2 nightingales.
Do you have impact? Cast a dual spell on him and make sure it hits. If it does, just keep spamming and running backwards. If it doesnt, run behind ur fellow frens and let them do the tanking. The falmer nightprowler is very resistant to magic so its hard. You can try lowering your difficulty if u wanna cheat a little. Or jus use Kill command. Up to u

My husband took over and using the same spell I was using (thunderbolt & paralyze) he killed them all in like 2 minutes on first try, i need to work on my gaming skills!
Thanks for the advice on hiding and letting the others with me take over, helped a ton in the following areas!

Gonna just say I lol'd.

But that room was so horrible, I died like ten times and I was getting frustrated because I wanted to finish the questline before work. Needless to say I didn't (it's done now, lol, working on becoming Thieves Guild Guildmaster) but that room was definitely one of the harder things I've encountered in the game. Then again Falmer are pretty hard until you get decent weapons/armor/perks IMO.

Is that going over the bridge? I jump to the right. There is an (spoiler) activation button on the side of the bridge to turn the centurion on. Then let the falmar deal with the centurion while you skirt around the right side.

The thing to remember about the Falmer is that they're blind, so you can get away with having a torch in hand and only have to worry about how much sound you're making if you're sneaking past. If you have a Muffle spell, that helps a lot, or if you just have some boots with that enchantment.

Anytime I find something that's tough enough to withstand a few sneak attacks from my bow, I'll go with a little patience and land one or two quick sneak shots, then retreat to the shadows until I'm hidden again, and repeat until it's dead.

What level are you? If you use destruction magic, I would go for the dual fireball-spell. Works for me.

The Falmers are blind so if you want to sneak past them and don't manage, no need to avoid the light but remove anything that makes noise, use Muffle spell/boots etc...

Activate the centurion with an arrow , they kill it pretty quickly but it definitely helps .

I normally target one of the wandering Falmer, with a sneak shot. They end up getting close to the Dwemer Centurion and causing it to become active, which causes the Falmer to attack it. Then the two Nightingales move in and start attacking. I stay back on the stairs and use my bow and arrow.

If things get too hairy, I drink an invisibility potion, hide and then go back in.

I find summoning a Dramora Lord or three helps... "there can be no other end!"
