Falout: new Vegas Map

The map seems smaller than i thought it would be,. Also I wanted to explore the entire map, but it doesn't seem to let you. To be more understanding, I mean the outer surrounding of the map. I was also kinda upset with the way the 3rd person is set up on the 360 version. It only lets zoom out so far before it resets to the original default setting. Other than that I like the game. Any opinions on what I said?

The map is supposed to be the same size as FO3...

no, although the map is square like FO3, the actual playing area is .. within that square. Like a strange long rectangle shape, with bits sticking out. ie it doesn't go right to the corners like FO3 did. (If you get/look at the game guide, it shows you the whole map, and its kind-of:)
