fans really want more skyrim info

Lulzsec also tweeted two demands for what Bethesda must do if it does not want the hacking group to release the data it obtained. The group said it would release the user database unless Bethesda released more info on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and would omit admin configurations from the leak if the publisher included "an official LulzSec top hat" in the game.

This is pretty ridiculous. Here's a working http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/06/hacker-group-lulzsec-demands-hats-threatens-release-of-brink-user-data.ars to a similar report.

I don't get these people. They use the old hackers excuse that they do it because companies who don't ensure their security is absolutely top notch are asking to be hacked. It's like a burglar saying "Well, I noticed a tiny gap in your bedroom window so I absolutely had to burgle your house to teach you a lesson about your security". Not a valid reason IMO.

Well criminal activity is usually irrational. Hackers are typically ambitious network programmers who crave credit for their work, so they do stuff like this.

What, exactly, do they mean by more info? I've probably missed the point massively here, but I'm quite happy to know very little of the game before it's released. Surprises aren't always bad, I don't want the game to lose its shiny before I've even played it.

They're not obsessive Skyrim fans, they're just a bunch of hackers who are hacking all sorts of game related companies lately. The whole 'release more Skyrim info or we release hacked data' thing is just a joke on the side.
