after reading/exploring/and selling items that date back to whatever or doing quests in the Ayleid ruins in Elder Scrolls Oblivion or the Cold/not empty/beautiful ruins of the Dwemer and just plain ruins in general and doing quests that either was part of the century or year old struggle is anyone fascinated with the history behind it all

Yeah I have taken a huge interest in the lore in this one, I've started pouring through books in game and some of them are very interesting regarding lore/history. It really is a fleshed out world when you look at it that closely.

Lore is a lot of fun in the beginning, but gets a little frustrating later on. They purposefully left out a lot of little things so they can change the lore later on. Like almost all of the lore authority people saw Alduin as Akatosh before Skyrim and there was a lot more lore to prove them right rather than prove them wrong, yet they were wrong. Then there are books that contradict each other A LOT. I remember in Morrowind you could make an entire library out of books that label a really cool guy as a god-king-saint who is awesome in every way shape and form. Than you discover ancient books that make him out to be a betrayer, murderer, blasphemer and heretic. Considering that you really can’t catch some NPCs who should know the truth and stick them into the Dark Brotherhood torcher chamber till they crack is kind of irritating.

I've learned a lot since sky rim. Oblivion really taught me nothing, but I'm learning from SK.

Is that how most historical accounts are? Some people loved the king, some people hated the king, everyone wrote of the king. I like that though, it lets you make up your own mind about the 'facts'.

One of my favourite quests in Skyrim was

when you had to rewrite a piece of lore in the bards college about Olaf one-eye. It made me feel like I was leaving my mark on the world
