Fast Shot

Does anyone know if the Fast Shot trait affects the iron sight accuracy? or only in VATS?

I thought about this after I had taken the "Trigger Discipline" trait, which is 20% slower firing for 20% improved accuracy.

Since you're in full control of ironsights aiming, I can't see how it increases the accuracy, unless it's moving where you DID hit 20% closer to that section's center (not sure if that registers more damage). Otherwise, it only makes sense to me that this could increase accuracy in VATS only.

I can't provide a definitive answer, but I can say that I picked it, and have no problem with aiming accuracy. I have a very high perception though which is rumored to affect general accuracy (can anyone confirm this?). I also have a 70 small guns skill.

The difference in firing rate is VERY noticeable, and is a huge lifesaver, especially with some of the slower guns (carbines, revolvers). Combine the trait with rapid reload, and some of the slower guns in the game become very viable, and very dangerous.

You have weapon sway even with ADS. So it affects both.

Unlike in Fallout 3 perception does affect accuracy in New Vegas.

As for the other point harmy is correct.

So... one way to consider it, is if you choose Fast Shot, you slap the trigger?

You get those shots off quicker, yes - but you jerk the gun when you do so :)

... my problem with these traits is that they are always on. When I go to the range, I can slap the trigger all I want, but then I can also take my time and do it 'trigger discipline' style...

That makes sense.

With ADS, it probably reduces the swaying by 20%.
