Fast Travelled to Whiterun, ambushed by ConjurerDraugr

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:36 am

I did not read anything on the newest patch about being attacked after a fast travel, but apparently something Bethesda has done is cause a great new twist to my game.

I fast travelled to Whiterun a few days ago and was attacked by a Novice Conjurer and a Draugr.

That was on my 2nd character.

Just a few minutes ago i started playing on my first character which hasn't been used since feb 11th. I fast travelled to Riften since I am trying to finish the Thieves guild and get the final ahcievement and when I FT to their sanctuary I am please to notice I am surrounded by 2 witches, and 5 draugr.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this considered a good bandit raid? The guards do not acknowledge the attack but they help.

I've never had this happen until the latest patch. I've had random "theifs" in Riften get killed, but nothing as awesome as this.

I really like what happened and was hoping that there would be stronger conjurers/draugr in the future to attack and maybe even bandits?

I mean how cool would it be to come home to the city and the guards are holding off a "good bandit raid"? It would make the game feel a little more realistic.

I'm very pleased by this... I thought I just happened to FT glitch enemies who were nearby somehow since I wa sin the right spot for a conjurer and draugr to be but for my 1st character I was in proudspire manor and FT from solitude. (I'm on XBOX 360 btw)

Not that specifically, but whenever I go to dawnstar, almost always a dragon, last time was a dragon and invading bandits. It was some pretty fun chaos, just annoying that it happens so often from fast travel instead of normal travel.

Ever since 1.2 I get dragons on fast travel. I get assassins/thieves attacking on normal travel. Bandit swarms of fast travel.

I usually come across mages/necros/conjure types on normal travel, half they time they are dead from bears/dragons

I have not seen an increase like you, but I've only been attacked twice.

I want bandit raids... =(

If this was within 72 Game Hours of the Patch being applied, that would explain it. After a patch, the scripts that spawn things get a bit wonky for a couple game days. I have had battle royales with multiple spawns during the beta patches. One involved a Vampire, an Ice Wizard, 3 bears, two sabre cats a couple of wolves and a dragon. It was quite exciting. But, this can also spawn enemies inside a city. However, after the first few game days, these things settle down.

So, either enjoy the weird spawns for a couple of game days post patch, or wait somewhere for 73 game hours, then play on.

Fast travel to Dawnstar after coming out of a cave, I get a dragon or bandits like every 4 tries.

That is very unusual. I've never had a random encounter involving draugrs.

Mods can cause that. I fast traveled to Winterhold College once, and I attacked by a Master Vampire and 3 Draugr, soon as I spawned. Kept happening over and over. That was about a month ago, before 1.5.

Darn. I really enjoyed the battles. =/ I wish something similar to this would be in game.

DLC Idea: Courier hands you a letter from _____(one of the holds), the letter says that imperial/stormcloak scouts have spotted a large group of ______ preparing to attack _____. The jarl has asked all abled bodied men of his hold to help defend in the attack.
Basically like the Whiterun attack, the same scenario happens to whatever hold asked for help, and that hold could possible suffer damage if you do not help at all or do not defeat the enemies fast enough.

Of course you would need to be a thane of the hold for you to get the letter. Small DLC idea but little things make a difference.

Wow! I was unaware. I wonder if this could explain why my lvl 47 Dunmer has been getting attacked relentlessly by ancient dragons since I hit lvl 46. I hadn't actually seen a dragon with this character for a while and then YIKES! IT'S RAINING DRAGONS! I thought hitting a certain level "triggered" something in the game. I didn't suspect it could have to do with 1.5...I hope it mellows out soon as I am running out of gold purchasing health potions in between attacks.
