Fastest firing bow?

Which bow has the fastest draw time? It seems like the high quality the bow, the longer it takes to draw. Does this mean that longbows are the fastest and daedric bows are slowest?

Yep - the fastest bow in the game is the Longbow. The Daedric Bow takes twice as long to draw as it does, but it deals over three times the base damage per shot.

Ok thanks. I think I will just abuse smithing and upgrade a longbow.

Might be troublesome that way- since no smith perk actually effects longbow "wood" material like the other materials.

Perhaps a hunting bow? second fastest- IIRC, and it can work off the steel smith perk- meaning that you will be able to improve it much more effectively.

I use mainly archery, and trust me, the Daedric bow is worth it. With the 30% faster draw perk it gets less annoying to draw, but think about it. If you have to fire off 2 shots to kill a target you could kill in one shot with a daedric bow, you'll have wasted more time using the longbow and also put yourself at greater risk of retaliation or detection.

Oh that is a good point. I guess I will have to go with a hunting bow then.

I like the Elven bows myself. To me they're a good compromise between base damage, carry weight and draw speed, and I think they're the nicest looking bows in the game anyway.

If you're upgrading with smithing, and have the steel perk, the runaway win is the Hunting Bow. It benefits from the smith having the steel perk, and is only 1 heavier than the longbow. If your aims is to have a fast drawing, hard hitting bow, that's your pick.

The "Bound Bow" is actually the fastest, and with the "Mystic Binding" perk, also hits the hardest. It just can't be improved via smithing.

THe ''Bound Bow'' is deadric qaulity so a Deadric bow paired with Dadric arrows will hit the same, cant comment on the speed of it though.

Yeah the Mystic bow is all kinds if awesome, it draws so fast, you level up both archery and conjuration using it, doesn't take up a lot of weight and best of all it comes with a hundred Daedric arrows so add 24 damage to each shot.

Take the Mystic bow perk and the soul trap one. I have archery at 97 with archery, sneak and conjuration perks combined with with some helmets and ring of archery that I found and most things go down with one sneak shot. Put it this way you won't feel like your underpowered through not being able to smith it.
