Faulty Product

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 11:19 am

I purchased Fallout New Vegas about a week ago. I have for the most part enjoyed the game even though there has been now great noticeable upgrade from Fallout 3, doesn't matter, it's not necessary for any great change. I have however been unable to enter the New Vegas strip every time I attempt to the game freezes. I cleared my Cache, changed my save settings within the game, downloaded all available patches for the game. Yet still the game freezes.

I am however unsatisfied with the product I have purchased. I spent around $80 dollars for a product from Bethesda (Obsidian may have made it but Bethesda has their name on it.) and that product is flawed/broken and I cannot return it in order to receive my hard earned money back as a statement of my dissatisfaction. All I can do is wait and hope they will fix the problem and not just tell us what we need to do in order to avoid the problem. I waited for this game to come out because I became a fan of the Fallout series because of Bethesda and chose this game over others that are coming out (Fable 3, The Force Unleashed 2) because I assumed that I was purchasing a quality product. In the future I will not make that mistake. I will play my faulty game and take what enjoyment I can out of it, but in future I will be hesitant to purchase a product from Bethesda and Obsidian. I hope that they take not of this post as from my readings I am not the only one dissatisfied, and the few speak for the many.

I so agree, Obsidian/Bethesda have no clue what there are doing. I read some where about trying to get the game out before fable 3, witch I bought and it works just fine. I had no problems with that game but this one is unbelievable. Payed 75$ for a game I connot play such crap, I wonder who is testing their games oh yeah...... the comsumer.

I think that is a little bit unfair suggesting that they have no clue, remember that fallout 3 was an award winner game of the year and Fallout Vegas is a must buy, so really they do have a clue. I think its more to do with Obsidian who have ruined fallout, perhaps rushed it, however I think its best to wait for the new patch before you come to this conclusion.

I am not under the impression that either company does not have clue as to what's going on. Obsidian might have let one slip past Bethesda but regardless, when I start up my game hoping for a patch to fix the issue so I can progress to the end of the game, It's not a large typed Obsidian logo that comes up. It is a Bethesda one, you put the name on a product and state it's yours you naturally assume responsibility for the product, whether or not you are at fault. It's the way the world works. my major issue is that I cannot get my money back for the game, because corporations assume that I bought the game made a copy and am returning it in order to screw them out of their profit. Understandable, instead of them losing millions and costing jobs etc., etc. I lose out on a piece of my paycheck.

I would even accept an extended exchange time frame for the same game once the issues have been fully resolved. because after 30 days I can't exchange the game and as it appears to stand there will not be a full fix in the near future. This would mean Bethesda accepting that the product they sold was not fully as advertised and would have to honour that agreement with the chains the games were sold in but I'm sure they'd allow Obsidian to help defray some of the costs if they did.

Yeah your right im just pissed off on how they are taking care of things, there is very little response of whats is exactly going on. Im guessing they dont know but would be nice if they told us that. It just seems this could have been easily avoided.

I agree it should have been avoided to begin with, they should have really focused on making a game that didn't contain so many glitches, especially because fallout 3 was game of the year, standards have slipped within the work place at Obsidian.

25 saves over 2 memory units have been corrupted making the game unplayable. I have been on the phone with Amazon and they agreed to give me a full refund. I will seriously reconsider buying any other games from Obsidian (for making an unplayable game) AND Bethesda (for allowing a game this sloppy to be released) in the future.
