Favorite Comedians

Post » Sun Jul 24, 2011 8:35 am

I'm guessing this has been done before, since everything else has. I haven't seen it though, so I thought it would be an interesting discussion. My top five are:

1. George Carlin
2. Richard Pryor
3. Bill Burr
4. Louis C. K.
5. Rodney Carrington

You don't have to post a top five or anything. Also, try not to link too many, if any, videos. As far as the guys I picked go, a lot of their material would break forum rules. So if you do link a video, make sure it doesn't break any rules. Oh, and I was more or less looking for a good discussion, so feel free to talk about your favorite comedians or even your favorite types of comedy.

In no particular order

Jim Gaffigan
Richard Pryor
Chris Rock
Dane Cook
Louis C.K.
Katt Williams

I would say what specific material of theirs I like, but that would probably break the rules, so I'll just say I like all their routines.

I forgot about Jim Gaffigan and Katt Williams. I really like it when Katt Williams is talking about his kid taking pills to calm him down. That's a pretty funny bit.

Dan Ackroyd
John Belushi
Chris Farley
David Spade
Norm Macdonald
Mitch Hedberg
Greg Giraldo
Patton Oswalt
Steve Martin

Ackroyd/Belushi and Spade/Farley are my favorite comedy duos and their SNL stuff was great. Steve Martin mostly for his films (Planes, Trains and Automobiles, The Jerk, etc). The rest because of their standup, with Hedberg leading the pack.

I like all of them too, but Aziz is the best. He is really funny. I think that new movie he's going to be in looks great. Not sure what it's called, but he's in it with the guy from Zombieland. The one where they have to rob a bank. That looks hilarious.

I like Arj Barker, and the Delirious era Eddie Murphy

Kitty Flanagan and Dave Hughs are the only (intentionally) funny people on Australian television at the moment
