favorite console commands ( not including mods )?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:43 am

I was wondering what are the most favored console commands / cheats?

So far, I have only added a few unobtainable items to my inventory, and used the player.adv command to level up and raise stats.

I recently heard about a console command which allows you to marry ANY NPC in the game.

I am thinking strongly about using this, but I wonder, what are the drawbacks to it?

Can you have multiple wives?

I'm fond of setscale, I use that to make my khajiit as tall as male characters.
Oh and another to adjust my walking speed, I up it to like 120%.

set timescale: varies from 1 to 5. moveto and unlock. Also to fix a broken quest (bring dragon scale & bone to Esbern).

I try to cheat as little as possible. :)

At the risk of sounding overly sanctimonious I don't use them to "cheat" or to move to places Niamh could get to by walking or anything like that.

What I DO use though are the usual "screenshot" ones, and - the command to keep her carry capacity permanently at 200 and to increase her walk speed to 115. When I started I set all of her skills to 1.
But that's it.

Click on NPC (usually guards but not always) at night.

additem 1d4ec 1

Gives them a torch, far too few NPCs and guards especially have no torch or other light source, and when using weather modification and darker nights mods, they aren't really optional most of the time. And since NPC torches never run, this is a permanent fix for any unique and non-respawning NPCs.

tcl for when I get stuck in between rocks or similar, and disable/enable followers for leveling like the previous poster. That's pretty much it. Oh, and prid when essential characters go missing (Wujeeta, anyone?).

I like to use the resurrect console code for when I decided to raise some serious hell within the city, and kill off all of the guards for the hell of it. For some reason the game does not re-spawn guards therefor leaves the city without guards.

tcl and MarkForDelete. Aside from those, I only use commands to fix broken quests and the like.

Although not a favourite, most used would be setstage and resurrect due to glitches.

I've only used one console command in ten years. COC for testing mods.

TCL for those annoying pockets I find myself stuck inside when jumping behind rubble to take cover in dungeons. TFC to scout when the lack of depth perception proves too much. Resurrect 1 for those inadvertant NPC deaths. TDetect for those times when the Thieves' Guild sends me to a place where nobody ever sleeps. Getpos/setpos and getangle/setangle for tweaking the placement of the various gewgaws I bring home from my travels.

I use save a lot because I like to name my saves. Also often use resurrect 1, because I cannot stand seeing a dead fox. One day I'll mod my game to make foxes and rabbits essential.

Rabbits should always be essential. Even IRL.

Same here, got a black rex and a vlaamse reus. The reus is in depression because his best friend a sable rex died the other month.
