Favorite power source for energy weapons?

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 3:17 am

Me personally I much prefer Laser, it's accurate and has a rapid RoF. Even damage is not an issue since I use the Tri-beam laser rifle.

What's yours comrades?

actually don't you people think the title should be ''Favorite power output for ew'', rather than ''Favorite source of power for ew''?

Message a mod to change it, if you want.

The Holorifle is one of the best energy weapons I've come across. I remember killing about eight Ghost People with it (with all mods) in a matter of about twelve seconds.

Modded Laser Rifle is really nice, but I love my YCS-186.

Gauss I guess, to be honest I don't use energy weapons that much but the YCS/186 is probably the one I use the most when I do. Second would probably be laser, laser rifle with all the mods is pretty cool.

No love for plasma heh..., the devs really did ''nerf'' plasma weaponry in NV compared to FO3. Just remember the A-21 plasma rifle (I think it was called like that), that thing had a near insane fire rate!

This.

Though besides the Holorifle, I prefer Gauss, Tesla, and Laser over everything else.

Gauss for hard targets.
Tesla for grouped targets.
Laser for soft targets.
Holorifle for when I'm just plan angry.

That's how Ruin operates anyway. :whistling:

The only time my characters use flame for anything (with the exception of War, he just loves chaos and anything that creates it.) is to clear out a cave or an insect nest as they cant be bothered using conventional weapons against them as they're, "fast little buggers", as Ruin would say. :P

Laser, I would use plasma but its not exactly lore correct anymore.

I still enjoy the Plasma Caster though.

My main character uses the Holorifle and the YCS pretty exclusively now. They are badass, especially with 100 EW skill. :flamethrower:

In Fallout 3 I generally went for plasma. In New Vegas though, I find myself leaning towards laser based weapons more.

Screw Fallout 3s energy weapons, they were weak as hell compared to the originals.

 I... ugh... How in the bloody hell does that have to do with anything I was saying? Yes, the originals had better energy weapons, and yes the originals also had turn based, but there was absolutely no connection of the two, it's just your blatant farcical exaggerations with which you attempt to label anything linked to the originals as taboo, to be avoided, when such is certainly not what is proper.

I do.

Valkebus, do you realize how much that doesn't help? I respect your opinion, but, even if their attitude is improper, your actions only dignify it, it's best to refute their farcical logic, not give into it.

Je-he-he-sus, son, have you ever played the originals, if you did, you'd know that the weapon and armor stats of the originals were on much different than in Fallout 3. You can't compare the stats of the two games because they are very different.
