IMO, Go with The Warrior/Mage/Thief stone and get married to get the 15% to all XP buff (just make sure you watch the clock and sleep at home every 8 hours). 35% to XP gain rate >>> all.

Steed stone.

It does the job of three HA perks and the pickpocket perk and pre-reqs, none of which i feel the need to take now. Combined with having the lioness as a companion i can usual do a pretty good job of looting a dungeon even if i go in with full heavy armour and multiple weapons.

Thief stone on my sneaky archer, but I might change that to Shadow later. I do have the occasional "Oh s***!" moment where invisibility could prove rather useful :), and I haven't really been doing much for my illusion skill.

Atronach is the best stone as far as min-maxing for master goes. That plus the spell absorption from alteration, plus magic resists close to 85% lets you basically ignore spell damage.

The Steed.

Lets my mage run around in heavy armor as if wearing cloth, gives +100 carrying capacity, AND removes the weight of all that heavy armor I'm wearing.

Lord stone + breton. Ignoring spells is nice.

Steed is just too useful. I'm an insufferable packrat, and must loot everything, even though I've got more gold than I could possibly spend.

I used the Lady before that with my thief/archer character; passive regens are always useful, if a touch flavourless.

I have to say, after Oblivion, I thought the only good signs are the Mage or apprentice now. But now, I have discovered the Lord Stone. <3 pretty awesome sh*t
lol i use the lord stone too, its not too hard to get to i just take a carriage ride to the closest town, i think dawn star and go from there. its a real defense oriented perk it helps a lot, i'm a mage and so i'm lightly armored and its perfect for my characer, but a lot of em look fun to try, the initial 3 are very good and the lover stone is good to use the first 10 levels or so to give you a bit of a boost early on then switch.

Yeah I am using the lord stone as a paladin. I am focussing on not being easy to kill though my damage out put is currently not that high (spending most perks on defense, healing and alteration first).
I've got it for my Paladin too. Great defensive stone, it + Spellbreaker and Flawless Ebony Armor is pretty unstoppable.

The Lord stone. It's helped me accrue 55% Shock and Fire resistance, and 105% (capped at 85% I believe) Frost resistance, plus a ton of physical resistance.

Does the spell absorption from atronach reduce spell damage in addition to recharging magicka? Also, is the -50% magicka regen additive or multiplicative with other gear?

How can the steed stone not be the best? It reduces the weight of anything your wearing to 0 (my Daedric armor weighs 0 instead of 50 now), eliminates any movement reduction based on armor, and adds 100 carrying capacity!

I'm using Steed Stone at the moment... very convenient. I may switch over to the Lord at some point. I'm thinking that if I use the Lord I can downgrade my dragonbone armor to something classier... like iron.

Mage stone... 26 hours level 10... I'd be level 7-8 without it.

wow, how did you do that?

I'm lvl 10 after about 1h most of the time and i don't even want to lvl fast

pretty easy, because that doesn't matter if you got roasted by a dragon breath, or eaten
that's why lord or atronach is always prio for me
