Favorite types of missions? Opinions on love interest in cam

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 10:52 am

I usually like Escort or Extraction kind of missions. I like to help and defend others in games, so I usually like escorting, healing, rescuing, delivering or extracting, etc.

Stealth missions are my ultimate weakness (thus no Operatives for me) in many games.

On the romance side, I say, "No". I'm a female playing a male character, and I usually don't like it when my male dude has a female love interest
(it's a catty female thing maybe, lol? or the fact that most female interests are bland and/or useless or annoying and sort of "there").
I usually don't like romances anyway in most of my forms of entertainment, so yeah, no. (Unless it's really, really well-done).

I do like how the Bioware games do romances, but there are choices for all genders and sixual orientations and you have
the freedom to pursue them or not. (I usually don't like straightforward narration kind of games because I feel forced into a "role",
but if games have plenty of choices like Bioware games or is a sandbox game, then I am fine with it).

Lol. I can see how that first part would make you feel weird.

OMG, lol, you meanie, you stole my fanfiction idea for my Security dude! (Beware, Yaoi fangirl here)

Why is it that guys like lisbians and girls like Gay guys?

Bioware gives the player downtime during the gameplay so that you can build a relationship with your party. It would be awkward in Brink for someone like Wraith to stop playing the game and talk to me.

Wraith: (Choose Option 1) How do you feel about the current mission we're on Hydra?

Me: I don't know. The unjust ways in which we, the Resistance, must take up arms against my fellow brothers is truly a woeful time indeed.

Wraith: (Choose Option 2) What's your take on the Security forces?

Me: To be honest, I believe that in their hearts they don't want us to suffer. When I was a child we hardly had enough food for my family and this neglect has caused the unfortunate death of my parents. I believe that in another time we can grow to understand one another.

Wraith: (Choose Option 3) I'm sorry to hear that.....

Me: Maybe we should focus on the task at hand. The VIP needs our help.

+5 Friendship

Yeah, that would be awkward to do in a mission.

I'm very happy to see the poll results. I was afraid that everyone was going to want operative style objectives, which would really hurt teamplay. But instead it seems that most people's tastes match my own, and that these games will end up being very balanced indeed

See, there are many people who like team based objectives.

I enjoy attacking and taking areas/fortresses/bases/etc. so I chose Assault. Defending against an assault is a close second though.

And I'd rather not see any romance in Brink. The characters look pretty deep, and there's a good story there, but I somehow doubt that any sort of love interest for anybody would work out very well. I wouldn't be opposed to someone having some lines like "I got a wife and kids to protect man. Blah blah blah blah." though.

There are.... many reasons why, but I'm not going to get into that, hehehe.
Oh, and I like both yuri and yaoi. I'm such an equal opportunist that way, lol.

OMG, that's awesome! I wonder how Brink would do Interrupts, lol.
*Paragon Interrupt* Let's talk this over. *dies from somebody's gunshot*
*Renegade Interrupt* Let's shoot some ***********! *kills someone*

..... I so want that! :D

What's Defense and "Denial"? Do I deny the fact that I have to defend something or deny someone of something? *shoots gun* "I deny you
this location!"

It's double the pleasure, double the fun. It's Wrigley's spearmin- Well, ok, it's not gum, but the logic still applies.

It isn't exactly liking girls with girls. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's about HOT girls with HOT girls. It's what we like, plus more of what we like. Which I like2!

I'm very good with math, I know what I was talking about.

And yuri is necessary everywhere. Everyone likes yuri.
In fact, I'd laugh for days and dump my entire savings into Splamage's wallets if the only females in the game (NPCs, obviously) were lisbian and wanted nothing to do with men. That would just be too funny.

god i hate games that incorporate 'love' into it. the only place 'love' would fit in would be in a game that is literally about love: .....pormo games

on that note take dragon age 2. why would they think that if im interested in slaying dragons i am also interest in having my character decide who to virtually bang. and this time they even went as far as to add homosixual relationships. *sigh*

It's +2 Paragon points only. Friendship is not a stat because it's implied that if they're working on your side, you guys are already friends. :P

Wasn't that already the case in the first Dragon Age?

I miss being 9.

I like the way Fable 2 did relationships, too. It was entirely open-ended. Hit on anyone, hit on no one. Doesn't change the storyline the slightest bit.

That's when I first discovered it. Loved it ever since. I'm all for relationships of about any sort. Be with the person who makes you happy, that's all there is to it.

There's just a few no-nos, that I won't go into detail on. To properly illustrate: the Eiffel Tower is a husband. It also... *ahem*... knows the warmth of a woman's touch. That's just wrong.

Brink isn't a free-roam type of game, though. It's mission to mission. Pretty sure it is, at least. If you can't just run around willy-nilly, you can't go up to anyone and court them as you choose. Plus, the whole Manazonian thing the Ark is working on.

Yaoi is two guys, yuri is two girls... doing stuff. To be more specific, it's typically expressed in the media of japanese comics and anime. Outside of those methods, it isn't technically called "yaoi/yuri".
"Yaoi" is pronounced Yah-oh-ee, or Yow-ee.
I like to learn all I can, so I pretty much research everything I come across.

I'm disappointed that I didn't get quoted, but I guess I can't expect all of my posts to be worthy of anything beyond a quick glance. Anyway, yeah, I enjoy a good siege, and I also enjoy defending against a good siege. Whenever I forged maps in Halo I would usually make maps that had two large, well-fortified fortresses that the teams would attack/defend. Good times, gooood times.

I also liked mazes.
