Speaking of the DB initiates, was anyone else expecting them to be named and a bit more important? All they do is walk around and say "Yes, Listener" "Ok Listener" "It's an honour Listener"... The Thieves Guild got two new, named recruits with backstories. Why not the DB?

Wow!Didn't know that about the TG. When does that happen and who are they?

Cicero by far. His dialogue is some of the greatest stuff ever. Especially when you ask to trade stuff with him.

They all lie dead to the axe of my orc, he sought revenge for past encounters with the db. They killed a person of great importance to him a long time ago, as a result when he moved to skyrim he decided it's best to be rid of the dark brotherhood.

He sees assassins having no honour, or respect for battle, and the people who employ them are cowardly.

Cicero. One of the most intersting characters in Skyrim, and he's the only one who stayed true to the old ways.

I disliked Astrid from the start. I can't really pin it down, but something about her always made me angry.
Maybe it was her carelessness. She was a disaster as a leader - as the outcome clearly shows.
She just wanted her personal playground, with little regards to tradition and the wellbeing of the members.
Additionally, the way she "recruited" me didn't sit well with my character.

This said, my favorite has to be Cicero. He is hilarious in his madness and has a quite interesting character.
I just grew attached to him over time.

Though I really liked Veezara also.

I'm going to vote for Veezara. Of all the DB, he didn't have an attitude, he was calm, grounded, professional and knew his business. Too many of the DB have chips on their shoulder, or enjoy their work too much, or both.

Ah, yes! "attitude" was the word I was missing regarding Astrid. Thank you.
I, too, had the impression that most members were enjoying their work too much. They had no appreciation for the seriousness of their work, they were all way too giddy about killing.

Cicero,at first i was like,wow he's crazy.

then i started falling in love him after i hid at the NM's coffin,he's mad yet smart, calculating and plans a lot, that's always nice and he's the funniest NPC ever.

Veezara next because of the voice, calm, great, guiding, welcoming, warm and keeps it simple yet offers much advice without preaching/mocking you at the same time.

other than that...

ITS THREE DOG BOW WOW!

Bear in mind I do not count that stupid f**kwit Cicero as DB proper.
Judging by his journal, the rest of the DB he was in got sick of him and left him to his stupidity and ugly tasteless outfits.

I like every one of them. They are all awesome. Babette is cool. Nazirs comments when you kill people are funny. The male werewolf married to Astrid is handsome and nice. Astrid is cool. Gabriella is cool. Festus is cool.
Sad when all but Nazi and Babette die. Astrid is cool and straight to the point. Poor Astrid. :( I like the Night Mother, shes cool.

Cicero is a total and utter cretin and I loathe and despise him beyond words.
I feel sorry for the Night Mother having to listen to his constant stream of bulls**t. You have to hope that her place in the world of the dead is soundproofed, because having to listen to Cicero blathering on and on and on constantly, even when you were'nt in the place with him, would really svck.
I spent the entire time from the first moment I saw him wanting to kill him in the most violent and painful way possible.
I was looking forward to day I could slam Malog Bols Mace into his whittering face.
And I did. Was very happy to beat him to death and steal his soul.

Spoiler
Did you still feel that way after Astrid sold you out in an attempt to buy off the Penitus Oculatus?

Babette for sure. Her dialogue to the other members when you first enter the Falkreath Sanctuary is frigging hilarious.

Cicero didn't bother me as much as he bothered some, but I did kill him for two reasons:
1) He taunted and tried to kill me so that's inexcusable (especially if he's true to the old ways as some people claim). If he were true to the old ways he would never have tried to kill The Listener without very good cause.
2) Even though Astrid needed to go Cicero should've told The Listener and allow The Listener to consult The Night Mother with instructions on the next steps. I'm referring to what set Cicero off - not her betrayal. Her betrayal would not require consulting The Night Mother.

Festus. I was in mourning for a short while when I returned to the original sanctuary to find him riddled with arrows.

Dear old Cicero. The one true brother in this house of madness is a madman.

Can't stand Nazir. He may be chipper, but he's just as psychotic as the rest of them.

Off topic but I just wish I could send the initiates out on jobs. And yeah, another Nazir fan.
yeah it would've been interesting if we could do this AC2 Brotherhood style. Send them off to towns on the map to gain XP

edit: Cierco

i love them all, but if i had to choose a favorite, it'd probably be babette.

...i miss my family so much...

the penitus oculatus paid with their lives, though... they felt true fear as i swept over them like a plague.

...hail sithis.
