1.05 feedback

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:21 pm

I just finished an 8 hour session, this without a single freeze. My save file is about 7mb now and before the patch, the game was unplayable with major lag and freezes. Also prior to the patch, the game wouldn't detect dead money and the dlc did not appear in the downloadable content section of the main menu. Fixed now and dead money is working fine.

Also, I experience a lot less stuttering when walking the mojave, I'd even go as far as saying that stuttering is gone. Frame rate drops still occur though, but I guess thats to be expected.

Anyway, long story short, I purchased the game back on release day in october. Haven't been able to play properly until now, but with the patch working as well as it does, looks like ill finally be able to enjoy new vegas. Thx Beth/Obs for not leaving us hanging as was the case with F3GOTY.

Yep. Performance is much better. Now I can relax and wait for Honest Hearts.

I just started a new game and went right away to the places that caused most problems on my first playthrough, like Westside and camp forlorn hope. Guess what? The framerate and freezing issues there are completely gone!
This patch actually did a great deal of smoothing out the stability. I enabled all autosave features too and it all worked fine. Thanks Bethesda and Obsidian for finally bringing what this great game deserves.

Have to say that i still experienced one freeze right in he beginning where you shoot the geckos with Sunny, so it still has some issues left (also quest-wise) but it's definitley a relief.

I still feel another performance patch in the near future is no luxury.. But we're getting there!
Now i can finally reccomend this game to friends owning PS3.

Thanks for showing that you do care about the quality of your games and your customers, Bethesda. Even if it is a little too late..

1 Weird thing I just noticed is the calendar is now messed up. My days seem to change at 7pm. So if its 6pm on a Monday, at 7 it becomes Tuesday.

Hats off.

Got the 1.05 patch today and installed it. Loaded some old saves (most notably the end game at Hoover Dam) and them some. I also created a new game and have played it for some time now. No crash-to-desktop. Virtually no stuttering - there is some stuttering sometimes but I've seen that too in Mafia II for instance and I guess it's virtually impossible to get rid of 100%. This is more than acceptable given the complexity of the graphics, AI and all.

This really looks good. Well done.

So there was no problem with my disc nor my PS3 after all as suggested by some.

I'll play it some more (will be the fourth time around, I don't know if I have the stamina to complete it again, but I'll give it a try - PSN is down so an intriguing SP-game like FO:NV might just be the cure) before I'll pass my final verdict, but this looks really good. Now I can, finally, recommend this game to friends. Just too bad it took so long. Enough grief - hope is restored - the game is playable as far as I can judge!!

There are still a lot of "bugs" left, but as I stated otherwise (I think), I don't bother much about them. Quest related bugs, clipping errors, graphic anomalies, etc, are inevitable in complicated games like these. As long as the game is stable, playable and not totally f*cked up I can enjoy and appreciate it. As far as I'm concerned that level is now reached, and then some.

Extra kudos for supplying the patch even though PSN is down. Didn't know that was possible. Now I'm looking forward to the next DLC.
