Feeling empty

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:12 am

Firstly, sorry for my bad English.

I think Skyrim is a fantastic game, (this is the first game I play in the elders scroll series) but what I regret is that you get so little rewarded in this game.
It feels so empty and I actually miss the feeling to be a winner.

For Example:
I have played quite a few hours (days :-) to get the 24 unuasel gems together, (then the crown and give it to Vex) and what is your price: a thank you and a blessing. I find that really too skinny for all that work.
I have done almost all the quest (only not the companions) and there is only that empty feeling i'm having afterwards. :-(
Sorry

But the story is fantastic!!!

That blessing can easily make you rich. You will be swimming in Gems soon, finding them everywhere. You probably have plenty of gold and gems already, but from a role-playing perspective, that's quite an impressive reward for an adventurer.

The reward for all the gems is called prowlers profit. It is not listed in active effects, I don't know if that is a bug or not. However the effect is awesome. You will have more gems than you know what to do with or sell.

For example I took out of a large dungeon: 28 diamonds, 33 flawless diamonds, 22 rubies, 25 flawless rubies and about the same in normal/flawless amethyst, garnets, and sapphires.

It took me weeks of in game time to travel between all of my fences to sell them all off. I cleared over 100k from one dungeon. I didn't need the money but I thought it was awesome.

That's true. The blessing is a great gift.
But what i tried to say is, why not, when finished that quest, that Vex invited everyone in the guild and shows the crown, or something like that. It would give the player more reward.

It seems like that's a pretty common theme in this game - I think it's just meant to be depressing. Skyrim is such a harsh environment, even without the presence of things such as the Dark Brotherhood, Vampires, Werewolves, Dragons, and monsters. I think people just don't get very excited.

The entire theme of the game is fairly bleak, depressing, and dark. Just think of how many references there are to the darker side of Humanity. I've put less time into this game than many of the people on this forum, but off the top of my head I can think of two women who talk about how they were sixually abused, two separate cases of child abuse(one which includes a large number of children), a man who takes part of a plot to burn his home to the ground with his wife and children inside, assault, abuse, and murder of the mentally handicapped, cannibalism, corrupt officials, and much, much more.

You're feeling empty because you want something positive, when this game is clearly embracing the negative side of humanity.

Master locked chests - they give me empty feelings.
Yesterday I cracked 4 Master chests, and in each one was max. 7 gold and some dodgy Iron armor.
Chests that aren't locked contain between 100 and 300 gold and generally good loot with some enchanted gear or weapons.
