Female Chars : Elbows out or in?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:31 am

Just rollled a fem char for a change to see what it is that causes some to walk around
like bodybuilders. Had assumed it was equipping certain armor or weapons or maybe
body type but have as yet to determine what causes the change in posture.

Anyone know for sure?

Not sure why they are like that or how to fix it but it's unappealing and bothers me. :pinch:  :yuck:

Cool, but what I'm saying is I can't figure out what causes them to change. I've seen screenies of other peoples
chars with the elbows sticking out and on the ones I've rolled, they walk with them in.

What gives?

Shield? Weapon drawn? Running or walking?

I mean with no shield, no weapon drawn, running or walking, doesn't matter. Look at Legate Rikka for example.

Perhaps their model is given a different animation set?

They're hiding a sweetroll under each armpit.

I prefer the idle stance of the "in" elbows. I (slightly) prefer the run/walk animation of the "out" elbows over the "swishy" runway-model walk of the "in" elbows. None of them are very good, though.

I'm confused that since 85% of Skyrim players are male, why so many of them are bothered about how glossy female lips are and how sixy their walking animation is.

Funny. Still doesn't answer my question though.

I'll take it there isn't a simple answer then.

It depends on the body size assigned to the character. Made a new female character today and she walks with her elbows in while my nord warrioress doesn't. As you may guess, the Nord is muscular, while my Imperial Assassin has less than half of the body size put into the bar at creation.

I made a female Orc, to test something, and her elbows were out. She had more swagger than my male Nord.

As opposed to my female Nord, who walks with her elbows in.

The more muscular your upper body becomes the farther away from your torso your arms hang. If you want your female to look female don't give them a buff body build.

I think the buff female stance is a little too wide for the actual size given by the slider but it is close to what you'd look like if you spent hours in the gym building muscle mass.

Yeah, just do a quick 20-30 minute test over it if you want self-confirmation. I prefer my female characters walking how my Imperial Assassin does; it seems more feminine. Which is wierd, since I dislike how the T-Mobile Girl walks in the commercials (yet at the same time I find her very attractive  )

hmmmm. I just did a quick check... The only character I have who walks elbows out is my orcess. She and my Nord both have weight slider all the way right, but my Nord walks in the typically feminine way, elbows in. All of my female characters except the orc walk like that.. while the orc walks in an exaggerated swagger, like she's looking to pick a fight, or out-macho the men.

And if she can out macho the Nord men... she's ready to grow a beard....

It's a bit tangential, but there's a mod on skyrim nexus that alters the stance of female housecarls (to an elbows-in stance), so maybe someone'll mod the gait of female PCs too.

Well, after following Delphine for a while, I came to the conclusion she has to do a #2 really badly.
