That's actually a really good question, was surprised I haven't seen anyone ask this before. If a beast head turns into a humanish head it would be kinda odd. Plus the tail just disappearing, but that wouldn't be that bad.

Yes they can. Fur colour changes and argonians become dragons.

Yea, and they actually look very different. Khajiit get pale fur and saber cat like teeth, argonion I can't remember, but do look different. Actually, beast races look the most different than their normal form, more so than humans.

I usually dont play play femeale chars but its nice that they added a female version unlike with the werewolf.

I would be very much surprised if there wasn't a distinct difference between the two genders. I expect the female vampire lord to be ugly but still noticably female.

It has been confirmed there will be a difference, we just have no idea what it will be.
